\ncelebrates his 13th<\/sup> birthday today, let\u2019s look back at a
\nfew of the biggest public moments of his life so far!<\/h3>\n

A KING IS BORN<\/strong><\/p>\n

The global media and royal watchers spent weeks<\/em>
\nwatching the door at St. Mary\u2019s Hospital in the hopes of witnessing
\nthe birth of a future king. When the news came that Catherine was
\nin labour on 22 July 2013, the frenzy hit a fever pitch! Finally,
\nthe news came at 4:24 pm that Catherine had been safely delivered
\nof a son.<\/a><\/p>\n

The next day, the newborn prince was presented to the
\nworld\u2014those doors finally opened!\u2014and we got our first glimpse of
\nthe still-unnamed Prince George Alexander Louis.<\/p>\n

As Catherine said to reporters: \u201cIt\u2019s very emotional. It\u2019s
\nsuch a special time. I think any parent will know what this feeling
\nfeels like.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

PRINCE GEORGE\u2019S FIRST ROYAL VISIT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Following in his father\u2019s footsteps, Prince George undertook his
\nfirst official royal visit of Australia and New Zealand less than a
\nyear after his birth. In April 2014, the youngster spent three
\nweeks touring two of the largest Commonwealth realms and gained the
\ntitle of \u2018Republic Slayer\u2019 for how much goodwill he generated for
\nthe monarchy in Australia.<\/p>\n

Though he was largely kept out of the public eye on this tour,
\nwe were still treated to a few public engagements, including the
\nsweet moment William and Catherine brought him to the Taronga Zoo
\nin Sydney to meet George the Bilby, who had been named in his
\nhonour.<\/p>\n

Since then, Prince George has accompanied his parents on visits
\nto Canada, Poland and Germany.<\/p>\n

A MASTER OF DIPLOMACY<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nI\u2019d feel confident on betting that the photo of Prince George
\nshaking hands with then-President Barack Obama in 2016 will be
\nfeatured in every retrospective of his life.<\/a><\/p>\n

When President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama visited the
\nUnited Kingdom in April 2016, their itinerary included dinner at
\nKensington Palace with William and Catherine and Prince Harry. In
\nhandout photos supplied of the private dinner and meeting, Prince
\nGeorge was greeting the American president in his bathrobe and
\nplaying on the wooden toy horse that the presidential couple had
\ngifted him three years earlier upon his birth.<\/p>\n

Later that year at the White House Correspondents Dinner,
\nPresident Obama, who was in the final stretch of his presidency,
\nused his speech to poke fun at how the world was ready to move on
\nfrom him.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast week Prince George showed up to our meeting in his
\nbathrobe. That was a slap in the face,\u201d<\/em> he joked.<\/p>\n

MEETING SIR DAVID ATTENBOROUGH<\/strong><\/p>\n

Personally, I adore the photo of Prince George, Princess
\nCharlotte and Prince Louis meeting with Sir David Attenborough
\nbecause they\u2019re reacting like they\u2019ve met a Beatle or Taylor
\nSwift.<\/p>\n

In October 2020, William hosted the legendary environmentalist
\nat Kensington Palace for a socially-distanced screening of A
\nLife on Our Planet<\/em> and the kids got a chance to meet him as
\nwell. During the visit, Prince George received a
\n23-million-year-old shark tooth from Attenborough, which should be
\na gift he brags about for the rest of his life.<\/p>\n

In a complementary video where people asked Attenborough nature
\nquestions, three of the most viral moments came from Prince George,
\nPrincess Charlotte and Prince Louis. While his younger sister and
\nbrother wanted to know if Attenborough liked spiders (yes) and
\nwhich animal did he like best (monkeys), Prince George wanted to
\nknow which animal might go extinct next. Attenborough gave an
\noptimistic answer on how we can all work together to ensure that it
\ndoesn\u2019t happen.<\/p>\n

To mark the beginning of the 2020s, Ranald Mackechnie
\nphotographed Queen Elizabeth II with her direct heirs in an
\nofficial portrait released in early January 2020.<\/p>\n

Elizabeth II is only the second monarch in history to have such
\na lengthy string of direct heirs while she was alive to see it (the
\nother, of course, was the similarly long-reigning Queen Victoria):
\nCharles III, William (then-Duke of Cambridge) and George.<\/p>\n

As Elizabeth II geared up to celebrate 70 years on the throne,
\nit was a poignant show of her legacy and how she secured the future
\nof the British monarchy.<\/p>\n

AN HONOURABLE ROLE AT HIS GRANDFATHER\u2019S

On 6 May 2023, King Charles III arrived at Westminster Abbey for
\nhis coronation in splendid robes attended to by his pages of
\nhonour. Among them: Prince George. This marked the first time a
\nfuture king participated in a coronation that wasn\u2019t his own.<\/p>\n

The dutiful grandson was robed in a scarlet frock coat and black
\npants for the occasion and got a front-row seat to what awaits him
\nin the future.<\/p>\n

While he has attended major ceremonial events throughout his
\nlife, including Platinum Jubilee events and the state funeral of
\nhis great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, this marked a major
\nturning point for the future king.<\/p>\n

VISITING WITH SECOND WORLD WAR VETERANS<\/strong><\/p>\n

The British Royal Family was at the forefront of VE Day 80
\ncelebrations in 2025, and Prince George joined his family at the
\npublic parade to honour those who served and sacrificed their lives
\nduring the Second World War.<\/p>\n

Later in the day, as senior royals attended a tea party for
\nveterans at Buckingham Palace, the young prince surprised everyone
\nby joining his parents. What was especially charming was that it
\nwas Prince George\u2019s request to attend so that he could meet
\nveterans and speak with them about their experiences.<\/p>\n

D-Day veteran Alfred Littlefield told the future king, \u201cYou
\nknow, it\u2019s very important you are here today. It\u2019s days like this
\nthat we should use to talk about things like this, so the younger
\ngeneration can have some understanding. There aren\u2019t many of us

Aside from attending major family events like Trooping the
\nColour, Christmas walks, and the Together at Christmas carol
\nservice, Prince George is most reliably seen at sporting

He has attended the Wimbledon men\u2019s singles final for the past
\nseveral years and has been a fixture when the British national
\nfootball team plays in tournaments; though both he and his football
\nfanatic father missed out on attending World Cup matches this
\nyear.<\/p>\n

Showing up at major sporting events is an easy way to indulge
\nthe public appetite for seeing the Wales children while also
\nguaranteeing that the kids will have a great time while the
\nspotlight\u2019s on them. As they\u2019ve all been raised outdoorsy and
\nathletic, it\u2019s not a wonder that Prince George is such a fan of
