Speaking about the track, Archive\u2019s Darius Keeler said: \u201cSometimes a song comes along that is so of the moment, so connected to what\u2019s going on in the world, that you just have to put it out as soon as it exists \u2014 \u2018Yahoo\u2019 is definitely one of those songs.<\/em><\/p>\n\u201cIt\u2019s probably the most brutally honest song we\u2019ve ever written, but it has a message that I think needs to be heard. I know some people might flinch at the direct nature of the lyrics, but there is a long and proud tradition of musical artists using their platforms to speak out on issues and challenge systemic inequality, war, and political oppression.<\/em><\/p>\n\u201cAt the end of the day though, \u2018Yahoo\u2019 isn\u2019t about politics, it\u2019s about humanity, and about the inhumane actions of tyrants and some world leaders.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\nKeeler added that he believes artists are increasingly being pressured not to speak out, citing commercial pressure, promoters, algorithms and, in some cases, intimidation from governments.<\/p>\n
