Malcolm Jamal-Warner<\/b><\/a>\u2019s widow, Tenisha Warner<\/b><\/span><\/a>, is addressing her relationship with her mother-in-law, Pamela Warner<\/b>, amid their bombshell lawsuit.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now, everybody \u2014 like, all of his family members and [those] who have lost him \u2014 they are grieving,\u201d Tenisha told Gayle King <\/b>in a teaser<\/span><\/a> of her Thursday, July 23, CBS Mornings <\/i>sit-down. \u201cYou know, it\u2019s been the biggest loss for all of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked whether she is close with Pamela, Tenisha coyly responded, \u201cYou know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Malcolm-Jamal died in July 2025 at age 54<\/a> after tragically drowning in Costa Rica. He is survived by his mother, wife Tenisha and the couple\u2019s 9-year-old daughter.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMalcolm-Jamal Warner\u2019s widow, Tenisha Warner, has revealed her identity and addressed his tragic death earlier this year.\u00a0 Tenisha took to Instagram on Friday, September 12, to share a joyful photo of her 2017 wedding to Malcolm-Jamal, who died in July after drowning while on vacation with his family in Costa Rica. Her late husband was [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cRight now, my daughter and I are just, like, in terms like [a unit],\u201d Tenisha told King, 71. \u201c<\/span>Look, the emotional capacity that I have can be very limited sometimes, and so, I have to for myself decide what do I have to give right now in this moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cWhatever I have to give, the first person to get that is my daughter, and then the second is myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tenisha\u2019s interview with CBS Mornings<\/i> was filmed shortly before she filed a $1.2 million lawsuit<\/span><\/a> against Pamela, who is the successor trustee of Malcolm-Jamal\u2019s Warner Family Trust. In court documents obtained by Us<\/i>, Tenisha alleged that she is entitled to $1.2 million, which she claims is equivalent of what her late husband promised her as part of their premarital agreement.<\/p>\n

Though Tenisha married Malcolm-Jamal in 2022, she alleged in her filing that the Cosby Show <\/i>did not deliver on the terms before his death. Tenisha claimed that she is a creditor of his estate, which is reportedly unrepresented and \u201cwill be inadequate to satisfy\u201d his apparent obligations. Tenisha is now asking the trust to settle Malcolm-Jamal\u2019s alleged debt.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlaintiff performed all obligations required of her under the agreement, including entering into and remaining in the marriage until the decedent\u2019s death,\u201d the lawsuit reads. \u201cThe decedent died without having satisfied his obligations under the agreement, and no person or entity has paid or provided the sums due to plaintiff under the agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tenisha filed her petition to block Pamela from distributing trust property while the dispute is litigated.<\/p>\n
