Actor Luke Wilson admitted that he forgot he played Emmett in Legally Blonde<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n The star said he told a group of excited children, \u201cNo, I\u2019m not Emmett,\u201d at a Mexican restaurant.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n At the time, Wilson said he thought to himself, \u201cI don\u2019t even know my character\u2019s name!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Luke Wilson<\/a> has opened up about being on trial over the true identity of his Legally Blonde<\/em><\/a> character, which he recalled being grilled on \u2014 and ultimately forgetting \u2014 during a past fan interaction with a group of children.<\/p>\n During a recent appearance on the Out of Order<\/em> show (watch below), the 54-year-old admitted that he forgot he played a major part in the 2001 comedy classic.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen the movie came out, I was back in Dallas, I was at this Mexican restaurant, this group of little girls came up,\u201d Wilson remembered. \u201cThey were like, \u2018Are you Emmett?\u2019 I said, \u2018No, I\u2019m not Emmett.\u2019 And then they kinda laughed and skittered back like little birds. I don\u2019t know who Emmett is and I don\u2019t know what you\u2019re talking about,\u2019\u201d Wilson said. \u201cAnd then they were like, \u2018You were in Legally Blonde<\/em>!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n It then dawned on the star that he was indeed Emmett, the love interest of Reese Witherspoon\u2019s lead character, Elle Woods, in the hit film.<\/p>\n \u201cI said, \u2018Oh! Emmett!\u2019 I don\u2019t even know my character\u2019s name. And I said, \u2018Okay, yes! I\u2019m Emmett! I\u2019m sorry, let\u2019s get a picture!\u2019\u201d the actor recalled.<\/p>\n He went on to compare the interaction to filmmaker Stanley Kubrick\u2019s 1980 horror masterpiece The Shining<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s like that scene in The Shining<\/em> where it\u2019s like, \u2018You\u2019re the caretaker here,\u2019 and I\u2019m like, \u2018No, I\u2019m not, you\u2019ve got the wrong guy!\u201d finished Wilson.<\/p>\n Despite forgetting his character\u2019s name, Wilson remains a vital part of the Legally Blonde<\/em> family.
