Travis Scott<\/a> can add \u201cactor\u201d to his credits \u2014 and it\u2019s all thanks to director Christopher Nolan<\/a>.<\/p>\nThe \u201cSICKO MODE\u201d rapper, 35, revealed during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em><\/a>on Tuesday, July 21, that the Oppenheimer <\/em>director, 55, personally invited him to star in his new film, The Odyssey<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\u201cMy phone went off and it just said, \u2018Chris.\u2019 And I\u2019m thinking, like, \u2018Okay, I don\u2019t know what this is about. Maybe he wants to go to a show?\u2019 \u201d he recalled.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Okay, what\u2019s this about?\u2019 So I pick up and he\u2019s like, \u2018Would you be interested in acting in a movie?\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018I mean, I guess, you know? What\u2019s the [role]?\u2019 \u201d he continued. \u201cBut I didn\u2019t think it was for him. I thought it might be for somebody else.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
He said Nolan then told him that he was working on a movie that was \u201ccoming out soon,\u201d he told him, \u201cAnd I want you to kind of be in it.\u201d The musician said he was surprised by the request, especially as his only on-screen acting credits before that point had been in music videos.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m like \u2018Whoa, hold on. Wait. Wait. \u201cI really enjoy his time. I\u2019m really inspired by him, he\u2019s a real mentor of mine outside of this. And so I\u2019m like, \u2018Yo, whatever you\u2019re down with, I\u2019m down. However, it goes, I\u2019m with it,\u2019 \u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n
Host Jimmy Fallon<\/a>, 51, replied, \u201cYou crushed it. You were great in the movie.\u201d<\/p>\n\u201cI was actually nervous as \u2018F,\u2019 but it worked out,\u201d Scott responded.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Fallon noted that he had scenes with \u201ceveryone\u201d in the film, and Scott admitted that he was surprised by that as well, as he initially thought he was going to \u201cmaybe\u201d be in one scene with some \u201cextras.\u201d<\/p>\n
