In Jason Tartick<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s perspective, there was one part of his sweet proposal<\/a> to Kathryn Hurley<\/strong><\/a> in particular that had his heart racing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were going on a boat. For the boat ride, I had some wine and stuff in there. I think that she was starting to catch on a little bit. She\u2019s like, \u2018What is this bag for?\u2019\u201d Tartick, 37, exclusively recalled to Us<\/em>, while promoting his partnership with Banfield Pet Hospital. \u201cShe was just inquisitive [about] the bag. So I mean, I [was like], \u2018Oh, we don\u2019t even need the bag.\u2019 I just dropped the bag, went to the bathroom, threw [the ring] in my pocket and was just terrified I was going to drop or lose it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cI just had the ring in there without the ring box, that I was like, \u2018Oh, my gosh.\u2019 I was terrified. We did it by the water, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh, my God, just don\u2019t drop this, just don\u2019t drop this.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite his fears, Tartick did not drop the ring in the water \u2014 and successfully got down on one knee to pop the question to Hurley during their vacation in Lake Como, Italy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was just beyond excited,\u201d Tartick gushed. \u201cI was just so, so excited. I just wanted her to be surprised, and she was. Truly, truly, it was the best.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Tartick and Hurley prepare to say \u201cI do,\u201d the Bachelor Nation alum told Us<\/em> the pair \u201chaven\u2019t touched the surface of the wedding planning\u201d yet. The couple are currently searching for the perfect location for their nuptials and have a general timeframe in mind.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we will get married in 2027. That\u2019s what we\u2019re targeting for, and we haven\u2019t sort of shared that,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re just so excited. It\u2019s gonna be a fun wedding, though.\u201d<\/p>\n

While their relationship hasn\u2019t been public for long<\/a>, Tartick knew Hurley was The One early on.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe shared that we were dating in December and had been dating several months before going public,\u201d he said. \u201cI said to her, \u2018Now that I\u2019ve had you in my life the way I have every day, I just can\u2019t imagine a world without you in my life and I just never want to have to imagine that.\u2019 That\u2019s [what] I said when we were dating and then [when I] proposed, I said, \u2018And now we never will.\u2019 When we started dating, I just knew. \u2026 She\u2019s just it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tartick, who rose to fame as a contestant on season 14 of The Bachelorette<\/em>, met Hurley through Wags & Walks Nashville \u2014 where he adopted his golden retriever, Teddy. Now, Tartick is teaming up with Banfield Pet Hospital to help pet owners plan more predictable costs associated with their furry friends.<\/p>\n
