Rosie O\u2019Donnell is reflecting on her longstanding feud with President Donald Trump more than a year and a half after she left the U.S. for Ireland. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In a new interview with People<\/a> on Wednesday, the TV personality said that Trump hasn\u2019t \u201cshut up about her for 20 years.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt used to be when our president would say things about me, it would be like, whoa,\u201d she said. \u201cFirst of all, if you had written this as a movie, a stand-up comic makes fun of a reality show host who is a bloviating idiot and he ends up being the president, and then he doesn\u2019t shut up about her for 20 years, it would be unbelievable \u2014 and the fact that it\u2019s my life is very trippy.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Trump has gone on offensive tirades<\/a> about O\u2019Donnell since 2006, including during the first Republican primary debate in 2015, where he called her a \u201cfat pig\u201d and a \u201cslob\u201d on national television. She <\/span>had slammed Trump on a 2006 episode of \u201cThe View\u201d over his decision to let Tara Conner keep her Miss USA title following scandals involving drug use and underage drinking. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Trump even went as far as threatening to <\/span>revoke<\/span><\/a> O\u2019Donnell\u2019s U.S. citizenship last year. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

O\u2019Donnell, who is temporarily back in New York this summer to perform in her one-woman show \u201cCommon Knowledge,\u201d said Trump\u2019s insults have manifested in a \u201cpost-traumatic stress disorder\u201d after he repeatedly used her as a punchline for 20 years. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She moved to Ireland just days after Trump was inaugurated for the second time in January 2025. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The \u201cView\u201d co-host said that her move to Ireland has allowed her to \u201creclaim\u201d herself without Trump publicly berating her. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She added that \u201cit\u2019s very strange to have supposedly the most powerful man in the world be your arch nemesis.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Elsewhere in the interview, O\u2019Donnell raved about another upcoming endeavor \u2014 filling in as a guest host for one of Trump\u2019s other frequent targets: late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very happy that he asked me,\u201d O\u2019Donnell, who is set to appear on \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d beginning Aug. 17, said of the host. \u201cI admire him. I admire his tenacity and strength. I admire his conviction to speak out against this political terrorism that\u2019s happening in our country, and I stand beside him and will.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Trump\u2019s ongoing feud with Kimmel became a public spectacle in April after first lady Melania Trump called for Kimmel\u2019s firing<\/a> over a joke about her. Trump has repeatedly pressured ABC to suspend Kimmel\u2019s show over other political remarks he\u2019s made.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

O\u2019Donnell\u2019s \u201cCommon Knowledge\u201d opens Wednesday at the Daryl Roth Theatre in New York City.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
