Jenny Slatten<\/strong>\u2019s daughter Christina is giving fans an update on stepdad Sumit Singh<\/strong>\u2019s visa application process amid the 90 Day Fianc\u00e9 star\u2019s public ALS battle.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to let you guys know that we have started the visa process for Sumit to come to the U.S. [and] to bring my mom so she can come here and get more treatment using her insurance,\u201d Christina said in an Instagram<\/a> video uploaded on Wednesday, July 22. \u201cBecause the doctors have told her she cannot travel alone because it\u2019s such a long flight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Jenny revealed she was diagnosed with ALS after experiencing symptoms for more than a year. Since receiving her diagnosis in May, Sumit has become Jenny\u2019s \u201cfull-time caregiver\u201d on top of being her husband.<\/p>\n

Christina added that they decided to have Sumit apply for an \u201cemergency tourist spousal visa\u201d rather than a green card given her mom\u2019s health.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have applied for an emergency tourist spousal visa, not for a green card. Only for a tourist visa. It\u2019s a lot longer of a process to try to get a green card, especially right now,\u201d she said, referring to the United States\u2019 current immigration process. \u201cThey\u2019re not making it easy for anyone. So we\u2019re going the tourist route.\u201d<\/p>\n

Christina explained that she spoke to her senator\u2019s office who told her that the visa process could \u201ctake some time\u201d if Sumit is allowed to proceed.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we\u2019ve started it and we\u2019re waiting for the Indian consulate to give Sumit his appointment,\u201d she said. \u201cAs of right now we\u2019re still waiting on the appointment and there has been no update when that will happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Christina also shared that her mother\u2019s doctor provided a note \u201cstating her diagnosis and that she cannot travel alone from here on out to come back to the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are working on it and we\u2019re gonna try our damndest to get Sumit here with my mom. So stay tuned,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
