The theme of this year\u2019s event is \u201cCelebrating Vintage Aloha Wear.\u201d PC: Tony Novak-Clifford<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Maui Arts &amp; Cultural Center will host its 28th annual Maui Calls benefit gala from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Yokouchi Pavilion, the center announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year\u2019s event is themed \u201cCelebrating Vintage Aloha Wear\u201d and will feature vintage aloha fashion, music, hula and dancing, according to the MACC.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maui Calls is the MACC\u2019s signature fundraiser and its food and wine tasting event, now in its 28th year, the center said. Proceeds support the MACC\u2019s arts and education programs, along with cultural and community events for residents from k\u016bpuna to keiki, including students from H\u0101na, Lahaina, Moloka\u02bbi and L\u0101na\u02bbi.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/media.mauinow.com\/file\/mauinow\/2026\/07\/J.-Anthony-Martinez-Photography-Maui-Photographer-Maui-Calls-2025-Maui-Arts-Cultural-Center-176-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-532033\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Dancers perform at last year\u2019s Maui Calls event, Under the Swaying Palms. Anthony Martinez Photography<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The evening will include gourmet p\u016bp\u016b from Maui chefs, wine tastings, live entertainment and silent and live auctions featuring Hawai\u02bbi staycations, restaurant dining packages, original artwork and musical instruments autographed by performers who have appeared on MACC stages, the center said. Deidre Tegarden and Tony Takitani will emcee.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Entertainment lineup<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Music will be featured throughout the event\u2019s spaces, according to the MACC. Guests will be greeted with a flower lei and music from Benny Uyetake, followed by a reception in the Yokouchi Courtyard featuring Hawaiian lap steel guitarist Joel Katz. The Hula Honeys will perform on the pavilion stage, followed by falsetto trio N\u0101 Hoa accompanied by dancers from H\u0101lau N\u0101 Lei Kaumaka O Uka under kumu hula N\u0101pua Greig. The JD \u201cOn the Rocks\u201d Band will close the evening with dance music. Anthony Martinez Photography<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Food and wine<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wines will be provided by Treasury Wine Estates, including Daou and Frank Family label selections, and O\u2019Neill Vintners &amp; Distillers, which will pour Robert Hall, Rams Gate and Substance wines, according to the center. Participating restaurants and caterers listed so far include Wailea Beach Resort, Four Seasons Resort Maui, K\u014d, Humble Market Kitchin, Caf\u00e9 O\u2019Lei Oceanside Kitchen, Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Star Noodle, Aloha Mixed Plate, SixtyTwo MarcKet, Leilani\u2019s on the Beach, Nicole Scharer, Spoon &amp; Key Market, Haleakal\u0101 Farm and Malia Coffee Co.
