Windwaker<\/strong>\u2018s third studio album \u201csmile, you\u2019re on camera.<\/strong>\u201d is on course for an October 23rd release date. The Australian melodic metalcore band will be putting that effort out through Fearless Records<\/strong> and have just given a debut to a music video for their new single \u201ccloser<\/strong>\u201c. The band said of the latter:<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018closer<\/strong>\u2018 is an allegory for the struggles of being in a band dealing with rejection, self-doubt, and the resilience in spite of that to keep going with something you\u2019ve given everything to. It\u2019s a message for all to keep trying and strive further toward their goals. This song is the first on the album to highlight a point in life where you have to make the heavy decision to either jump ship and pivot toward a \u2018normal life\u2019 or to keep sacrificing in favor of something you\u2019ve invested so much into.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n As for the album itself, a press release stated of it:<\/p>\n \u2018As a whole, \u2018smile, you\u2019re on camera.<\/strong>\u2018 ruminates on the weight of time and growth, struggles and sacrifice for the better life and authenticity in spite of a world full of superficial and sinister characters and bad actors. It\u2019s a collection of catchy, energetic and heartfelt songs. The album offers a more guitar-forward and gritty, analog-focused backdrop compared to its predecessor, \u2018HYPERVIOLENCE<\/strong>\u2018, while encapsulating the eclectic signature sound of Windwaker<\/strong> up to this point.<\/p>\n The album is highly introspective and does not follow a linear narrative, instead presenting a series of personal reflections and snapshots that capture the emotional highs and lows of this period.
