Ever since Brad Pitt<\/a> and Angelina Jolie<\/a>\u2019s divorce, their six children\u2014Maddox (24), Pax (22), Zahara (21), Shiloh (20), and twins Knox and Vivienne (18)\u2014have grown increasingly distant from Pitt. Notably, five of them have taken legal steps to remove \u201cPitt\u201d from their last names.<\/p>\n

Shiloh was the first of the kids to file paperwork to drop \u201cPitt,\u201d doing so on her 18th birthday, May 27, 2024. Maddox and Zahara<\/a> followed in her footsteps two years later, with their court hearings scheduled for September 2026.<\/p>\n

Now, Pitt and Jolie\u2019s youngest daughter, Vivienne<\/a>, is also seeking to officially drop her father\u2019s surname. She has stopped using \u201cPitt\u201d in personal and professional settings, such as in the Playbill for the Broadway musical The Outsiders<\/em>, which she helped produce with Jolie.<\/p>\n

According to court documents obtained by People<\/em><\/a>, Vivienne\u2019s seeking to change her name to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie due to \u201cpersonal\u201d reasons. Her hearing is scheduled for Monday, November 2.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf people knew the whole truth, they would have more sympathy for the children and respect them,\u201d a source close to Jolie told the outlet. \u201cThe fact they aren\u2019t speaking ill or sharing things publicly only shows their decency.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source continued, \u201cAngie hasn\u2019t been fighting and isn\u2019t angry. She just wants everyone to heal.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, a source close to Pitt told People<\/em>, \u201cIt\u2019s sad to see someone repeatedly publicize their successful alienation of their children from the other parent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pitt has not publicly addressed his and Jolie\u2019s kids\u2019 name change requests, but in June 2026, a source told HeatWorld<\/em><\/a> that he\u2019s \u201cabsolutely crushed\u201d by the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrad is absolutely crushed that the kids are one-by-one disowning him formally,\u201d the insider said, \u201cit\u2019s the definition of soul destroying and almost impossible for him to comprehend.\u201d<\/p>\n

A separate source previously told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> that Pitt desperately wants a close relationship with his kids. \u201cHe feels most hurt out of everything that happened with Angie that his children don\u2019t want a public association with his last name,\u201d they explained in May 2026. \u201cIt\u2019s been very difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n

The insider added that Pitt \u201cstill does hope and keeps the door open to eventual reconciliation, hopefully with all of them, but it is their decision. He has no power and he can\u2019t force them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
