John Leguizamo began voicing Sid the Sloth in the first Ice Age<\/em> film in 2002<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n As he prepares for the premiere of Ice Age: Boiling Point <\/em>in February 2027, Leguizamo shared his gratitude for the role and talked about how he\u2019s used his paychecks from it<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Ice Age 6<\/em> also stars Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary and Simon Pegg<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n John Leguizamo<\/a> opened up about his experience as part of the cast of Ice Age<\/em>, including how he\u2019s used his paychecks.<\/p>\n The 66-year-old actor recently caught up with Entertainment Tonight<\/em><\/a> to discuss the sixth film, Ice Age: Boiling Point,<\/em> which debuts in February 2027. During the conversation, he reflected on getting paid for being part of the successful and enduring franchise.<\/p>\n \u201cIt paid my bills! It got me a second and a triple home. It paid for my kids\u2019 college,\u201d the actor said with a laugh.<\/p>\n Additionally, Leguizamo said the role has always \u201callowed me to be really as funny as I want to be.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMovies are more dramatic usually, but in that, I got to be hilarious. I got to be so silly and create this incredible character and creature,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n The outlet showed Leguizamo an interview from 2002 in which he talked about voicing his character, Sid the Sloth.<\/p>\n \u201cI said, \u2018Give me some Discovery Channel footage on sloths,\u2019 and of course, you\u2019re watching, and it\u2019s like there\u2019s a sloth on fire and he\u2019s running,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cAnd just when I was about to turn it off two hours later it still hadn\u2019t moved. The narrator said, \u2018They store food in their mouths.\u2019 That\u2019s how I started to come up with this sort of lateral lisp, from all the food. They\u2019re reuniting the trio, bringing Queen Latifah<\/a> abroad and I think J. Lo\u2019s in it as well. I mean, everybody\u2019s coming back for this one.\u201d<\/p>\n In June 2026, the first teaser for Ice Age: Boiling Point<\/em> was released.
