A West Hollywood<\/a> restaurant owner is giving a massive sign from Stephen Colbert<\/a>\u2019s old \u201cLate Show<\/a>\u201d a new home.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Jeff Douek \u2014 the owner of WeHo Bistro \u2014 purchased the sign at auction for a reported $102,100<\/a> last month after Colbert included the piece in his \u201cEverything Must Go!\u201d clearance sale, with the proceeds going to celebrity chef Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s\u2019 charity World Central Kitchen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The \u201ciconic\u201d 12-foot, colorful sign \u2014 which previously lit up the \u201cLate Show\u201d set at the Ed Sullivan Theater \u2014 was initially installed on WeHo Bistro\u2019s rooftop last month before it was moved to an exterior wall of the building on July 15, according to the restaurant<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re incredibly honored to welcome this special piece of late-night television history to WeHo Bistro,\u201d the restaurant wrote<\/a> in a post to Instagram. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cThank you, Stephen Colbert, for the laughter, intelligence, kindness, and magic you\u2019ve shared with all of us over the years.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In an interview with CBS Los Angeles<\/a>, Douek revealed that he was a fan of Colbert, noting that he regularly watched \u201cThe Late Show\u201d and \u201cThe Daily Show\u201d host Jon Stewart before going to bed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cThey digested the crazy world around us, and it made me sleep better because instead of listening to the news, I could laugh about it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cAnd so he changed my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In addition to the sign, the restaurant has also put up posters listing some of the hundreds of famous faces who dropped by \u201cThe Late Show\u201d before CBS cancelled it this year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Douek told the CBS affiliate it was a challenge to get the sign to the West Coast as it was \u201ctoo big for most trucks,\u201d leading him to make special arrangements for the piece to make the over 2,700-mile trek out west.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Douek said he felt motivated to share the sign \u2014 and the \u201cmagic\u201d of all the people interviewed under it \u2014 with his guests, his team and the community.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
