Global girl group Katseye<\/a> have released their new single \u201cAnimal\u201d<\/a> \u2013 and it\u2019s exactly what fans have been asking for.<\/p>\n

The song, taken from their upcoming third EP Wild<\/em>, due out on 14 August, sees the members take a pause from their \u201cGnarly\u201d, \u201cInternet Girl\u201d or \u201cPinky Up\u201d<\/a> vibe, returning to a style more similar to \u201cGabriela\u201d, their most streamed song on Spotify<\/a> by a mile.<\/p>\n

Now, I love \u201cGnarly\u201d, \u201cInternet Girl\u201d and \u201cPinky Up\u201d \u2013 though \u201cGabriela\u201d is my favourite release from Katseye (so far) \u2013\u00a0but many fans have been begging them to, well\u2026 sing.<\/p>\n

In \u201cAnimal\u201d, the girls don\u2019t just sing. They SIIIIING! There are no repeated two-word choruses, or verses that feel created purely for TikTok. There are real lyrics, real vocals, less noise to distract from the group\u2019s talents.<\/p>\n

It brings a flirtatious vibe \u2013 and not in a subtle way, either, with lyrics such as \u201cyour body gets twisted and tangled in mine\u201d \u2013 adding an almost vintage sound, encouraging listeners to embrace their wild side.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnimal\u201d is co-written by Ed Sheeran, and looks at the way you present yourself to the world versus how you act \u201cbehind closed doors\u201d.<\/p>\n

The members\u2019 \u2013 Sophia, Daniela, Yoonchae<\/a>, and Lara and Megan<\/a>, who are both LGBTQ+ \u2013 really have a chance to shine and prove why they were selected for the group in the first place.<\/p>\n

Even before the full track released, fans were excited that their calls had been heard from just the teasers.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow THIS is the Katseye I know,\u201d one wrote on Instagram. Another added: \u201cThis about to be the next \u2018Gabriela\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

A third wrote: \u201cThey\u2019re singing omg I\u2019m sat.\u201d And someone else added: \u201cVocals are being showcased!\u201d<\/p>\n

As for the music video, like \u201cGabriela\u201d, there\u2019s more of a story, with the members shifting between masculine and feminine images of themselves, with boundaries beginning to blur.<\/p>\n

Of course, there\u2019s the choreography we\u2019ve all come to expect from Katseye, as well as the incredible styling (as was teased earlier this week on Instagram<\/a>).<\/p>\n

There\u2019s even a cameo from THE Demi Moore. Yes, Oscar-nominated actress, star of The Substance<\/em> and all round icon.<\/p>\n
