The series is an adaptation of author Elin Hilderbrand\u2019s 2023 novel of the same name and stars Jennifer Garner<\/span><\/a> as a food blogger struggling to cope with the loss of her husband, and who invites four close friends \u2013 played by Chlo\u00eb Sevigny, Regina Hall, D\u2019Arcy Carden and Gemma Chan<\/span><\/a> \u2013 for a weekend getaway to beachy Nantucket in Massachusetts.<\/div>\n

Fans of the show may recognise Carden, who plays Brooke, from her role as Janet in Netflix\u2019s The Good Place, which earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.<\/p>\n

Carden, who was born in January 1980, admitted in an interview with Vulture that when she was 12, she was inspired by American rock band Smashing Pumpkins\u2019 bassist D\u2019Arcy Wretzky, and decided to add an apostrophe to her name.<\/p>\n

Carden\u2019s mother is reportedly Jewish with Russian, Romanian and German heritage while her father is Turkish-Greek.<\/p>\n

She recalls in an interview with Mercury News that she was nine when she realised she wanted to become an actor after watching her father, Dennis Erokan \u2013 who founded Bam Magazine, a San Francisco-based music magazine \u2013 star in a production of the play Our Town.<\/p>\n

Determined to make it as an actress, Carden studied theatre at Southern Oregon University and moved to New York after her graduation to chase her dreams.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
