\nLater in the year, Inis will release a traditional music compilation
\nassembled by Coll, a showband compilation curated by Charles Hendy of
\nthe Mary Wallopers, and further reissues the founders describe as important Irish albums that deserve renewed attention.<\/p>\n
\n who ran Richter Collective during a fertile period for Irish guitar
\nmusic, underlined the wider structural motivation. \u201cIreland has such a
\nrich history of amazing artists and labels,\u201d he said. \u201cOver the last 30
\nyears though, we have relied heavily on infrastructure from outside the
\ncountry. We hope Inis Records can help build a stronger independent
\nmusic infrastructure here, giving a generation of new artists and labels
\n the support they need to grow their businesses in Ireland, while
\nreaching audiences internationally.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n whose Faction Records roster includes Sorcha Richardson, James Vincent
\nMcMorrow, and Niamh Regan, pointed to the volume of emerging Irish talent
\n as a reason the timing feels right. \u201cI\u2019ve worked in the Irish music
\nindustry for many years and each year there are so many brilliant new
\nartists that emerge onto the scene,\u201d he said. \u201cThe timing feels right to
\n launch this label that will shine a light on forgotten gems and support
\n the most exciting acts we have in Ireland today.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n founders stress that human curation will sit at the centre of the
