In March, PRS indicated<\/a>\u00a0that outgoing CEO Andrea Czapary Martin, her decision to step away having been \u201creached in agreement with the PRS Members\u2019 Council,\u201d would depart \u201cat the end of 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n In a statement, Wilson described PRS\u2019 \u201cmost urgent priority\u201d as \u201cprotecting the integrity and value of human creativity.\u201d Additionally, the longtime YouTube higher-up, who until early 2026 also served on the Creative Industries Council, said his \u201cfirst priority will be to listen and learn.\u201d<\/p>\n That approach seems wise. On one hand, Martin\u2019s roughly seven-year tenure brought significant collections and distributions growth<\/a>. On the other hand, the period wasn\u2019t without challenges for PRS, among them Blur drummer David Rowntree\u2019s \u201cblack box\u201d lawsuit<\/a>; a different complaint<\/a> from songwriters; and related admin-rate criticism<\/a> from Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Thom Yorke.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Wilson\u2019s tech experience is worth keeping in mind amid AI\u2019s rise, about which nearly 80% of UK musicians have concerns, per a PRS survey<\/a>. So is the possibility that the same experience, plus the plans \u201cto listen and learn,\u201d may set the stage for a long-overdue music-monitoring overhaul<\/a>.<\/p>\n Former Skechers, Nike, and Timberland exec Tseyin Foo has joined UMG as president, global supply chain.<\/p>\n Frontiers has welcomed ex-AFM Records team member Timo Hoffmann as head of A&R, Germany.<\/p>\n Station Entertainment co-founder Andy Schuon is now the Academy of Country Music\u2019s CEO.<\/p>\n Bang & Olufsen has announced<\/a> John Legend as its global brand ambassador.<\/p>\n <\/div>\nPRS for Music<\/h4>\n
