Tom Schwartz<\/strong><\/a> is defending himself online after claims that he looks \u201cunrecognizable\u201d these days.<\/p>\n

The Vanderpump Rules<\/em> alum, 43, took to his Instagram Story on Thursday, July 23, to respond to an article with the headline, \u201cTom Schwartz is unrecognizable as he surfaces downcast at 43.\u201d The accompanying photos showed the reality star walking his dogs in Los Angeles as he sported a blue and white striped tee, jeans and dark sunglasses. In one snap, Schwartz appeared to have a frown on his face.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis trademark breezy ebullience seemed nowhere in evidence,\u201d read the article, which also mentioned that his and Tom Sandoval<\/strong>\u2018s Hollywood bar, Schwartz & Sandy\u2019s, had closed down while the L.A. sandwich shop owned by Schwartz\u2019s ex-wife, Katie Maloney<\/strong>, \u201cremains open.\u201d (The eatery, called Something About Her<\/a>, is co-owned by Sandoval\u2019s ex Ariana Madix<\/strong>. It opened in 2024.)<\/p>\n

Sharing a screenshot of the article, Schwartz wrote to the outlet, \u201cYou better sleep with one eye open.\u201d He also added a crying emoji.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMany Vanderpump Rules viewers wondered whether Tom Sandoval\u2018s affair with Rachel \u201cRaquel\u201d Leviss affected his stake in TomTom and Schwartz & Sandy\u2019s. Before his personal life blew up on a nationwide scale in March 2023, Sandoval and Tom Schwartz partnered up with Lisa Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd, on TomTom. The restaurant, which opened [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Schwartz\u2019s girlfriend, Kiana Carroll, also defended her man by sharing a Boomerang video of the TV personality by a pool with the caption, \u201cIt was a bad angle guys.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schwartz & Sandy\u2019s, a bar and restaurant in Los Angeles serving American cuisine, closed for good in 2024<\/a> after two years in business.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith a heavy heart, we\u2019ve made the difficult decision to close Schwartz & Sandy\u2019s at the end of December,\u201d Sandoval, 43, announced via Instagram at the time. \u201cThis hasn\u2019t been an easy choice for my partners and me, but other priorities and commitments have taken hold.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schwartz explained the decision to close in a statement to People<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, the current climate for this business is pretty rough,\u201d he shared. \u201cRecovering from all the negativity post-scandal wasn\u2019t easy, and the slimmer margins post-COVID made it even harder to bounce back. There\u2019s not a lot of room for error in the restaurant\/bar business.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schwartz and Sandoval are also minority stakeholders in L.A. restaurant TomTom, co-owned by Lisa Vanderpump<\/strong> and her husband, Ken Todd<\/strong>. The venue, which opened in 2018, is currently for sale.<\/p>\n

Though Schwartz and Sandoval were once close friends in addition to business partners, their relationship was strained<\/a> after Schwartz & Sandy\u2019s received backlash from Sandoval\u2019s infamous affair with former Vanderpump Rules<\/em> costar Raquel Leviss<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
