Jon Bon Jovi unexpectedly and abruptly ended his concert at Madison Square Garden Thursday night about an hour and a half into the show after struggling to perform.<\/p>\n

According to a statement from a spokesperson for the band, the singer had been “battling a sinus infection which led to the show\u2019s early ending.”<\/p>\n

She added, “As part of the Bon Jovi residency at Madison Square Garden, Jon has said numerous times that it has been a joy to return to live shows for the band. Updated information will be available shortly.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the performance, Train lead singer Pat Monahan stepped in to help finish “Livin’ on a Prayer,” one of Bon Jovi’s biggest hits, before the show stopped early.<\/p>\n

Bon Jovi apologized to fans and asked them not to throw away their tickets, saying he would find a way to make it up to them once he felt well enough to perform again.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t throw away your ticket stubs, I\u2019m gonna figure something out, OK?\u201d the singer told the crowd. \u201cJust hold onto it, we\u2019ll figure out how to reschedule,” he said.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cBut I\u2019m gonna have to cool it for the night. I feel great. I\u2019ll see you again soon, goodnight.\u201d<\/p>\n

The concert’s early end comes four years after he underwent surgery for a strained vocal cord, which also forced him to step back from performing. <\/p>\n

Bon Jovi recently launched his “Forever Tour,” his first tour since recovering from vocal cord surgery. The tour opened July 7 at MSG, with Thursday night marking the eighth show performed at the arena.<\/p>\n

Despite his recovery process, Bon Jovi said his bandmates and team never stopped supporting him or doubted he would eventually return.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey never doubted [me] and never looked for work or decided to retire,\u201d he told People. \u201cThe sacrifices that each one of them have made to be there for me is on a whole \u2018nother level. They said, \u2018No, we\u2019re with you.\u2019 Every day of every rehearsal they were there with me. My love for them has only deepened,” he said.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
