Chelsea Wolfe<\/strong> has announced her ninth studio album, \u2018The Dark,\u2019<\/strong> which is set to arrive on August 21<\/strong> through Loma Vista<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The new record from the acclaimed folk doom<\/strong> artist was officially unveiled on July 21<\/strong>, following the recent release of two previously shared singles, including the album\u2019s title track and \u201cDeath Is Not The End.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The latest preview from \u2018The Dark\u2019<\/strong> comes in the form of \u201cCold,\u201d<\/strong> which arrives alongside a new music video directed by Magdalena Wosinska<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The upcoming album features several notable guest appearances, including Robin Finck<\/strong> of Nine Inch Nails<\/strong>, drummer Matt Chamberlain<\/strong> (A Perfect Circle<\/strong>, Ghost<\/strong>), and members of K\u00e6lan Mikla<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Discussing the themes behind \u2018The Dark,\u2019<\/strong> Chelsea Wolfe<\/strong> explained that the album explores personal accountability, complicated relationships, and the process of moving forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ghosts are haunted by the living just as much as the living are haunted by the ghosts. On this album, I\u2019m not pointing the finger at anyone. I\u2019m taking responsibility. Someone who may have been a toxic presence in my life\u2026 maybe I was bad for them, too. It\u2019s ok to move away from these types of connections that only seem to cause confusion for both parties, after a long stretch of trying to work it out.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
