The Kansas City Royals made a minor trade<\/a> ahead of Saturday\u2019s game against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Royals sent outfielder Kameron Misner to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for cash considerations.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Misner was designated for assignment<\/a>. He was moved to open a spot on the 40-man roster for new right-handed pitcher Nate Pearson.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

And now, Misner will report to the fourth MLB organization of his career.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Misner, 28, appeared in 18 games with the Royals. He hit .220 (9-for-41) with four RBIs and three stolen bases.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Royals utilized him in multiple outfield spots. He was relegated to bench duties as he played behind Lane Thomas, Isaac Collins and Jac Caglianone. At times, Misner received time in center field after Kyle Isbel suffered a left plantar fasciitis injury<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Misner is the first player traded away by the 2026 Royals. In recent weeks, they have acquired players to help fill roles in a down season. Guys like Connor Seabold, Randy Dobnak and Pearson were added in small deals.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It\u2019s possible the Royals will continue to explore the trade market. They have several expiring contracts and intriguing players that could return solid value.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

For now, Royals general manager J.J. Picollo is monitoring the developing trade landscape. He doesn\u2019t plan to become full-scale sellers<\/a> because of the team\u2019s desire to compete in 2027.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

KC had acquired Misner from the Tampa Bay Rays this past offseason. The Royals originally drafted the Poplar Bluff native in the 33rd round in 2016, but he didn\u2019t sign at that time. Instead, he chose to play baseball at Mizzou.<\/p>\n
