Billy Joel\u2019s ex-wife Katie Lee Biegel says she once had a less-than-friendly encounter with Chevy Chase.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Food Network star recalled the awkward interaction on Friday\u2019s episode of her All on the Table with Katie Lee Biegel podcast<\/a> after a listener asked about the nicest \u2013 and not so nice \u2013 celebrities she\u2019s met over the years.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy celebrity run-in that was not so nice was Chevy Chase,\u201d Biegel said.<\/p>\n

Biegel claimed she and Joel hosted an \u201cold-school keg party\u201d at a house they planned to demolish after spending the summer there with friends.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe decided to have a kind of tear-the-house-down party, keg party, and I had Jell-O shots, kegs. It was a very star-studded party,\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n

Things took an awkward turn, however, when Chase apparently mistook her for a member of the catering staff.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy ex-husband was standing talking to Chevy Chase and his wife and I had a tray of Jell-O shots,\u201d Biegel explained. \u201cAnd I went up with the tray of Jell-O shots and said, \u2018Do you guys want a shot?\u2019 and Chevy thought that I was the staff at the party.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd he took his hand and shooed me away,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

A rep for Chase did not immediately respond to Page Six<\/i>\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n

The National Lampoon\u2019s Vacation<\/i> star has long had a reputation for being difficult to work with, with former colleagues from projects like Saturday Night Live <\/i>and Community<\/i> publicly speaking about clashes with the actor over the years.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, Biegel said not all of her celebrity encounters have been negative.<\/p>\n

The TV personality shared that one of her favourite run-ins was with comedian Jon Stewart while she was working at a fish market in Sag Harbor on Long Island, New York, during in 2003.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe could not have been lovelier,\u201d she said. \u201cHe was so nice. He was patient with me.\u201d<\/p>\n
