Since confirming their relationship in early 2025, Hugh Jackman<\/a> and Sutton Foster<\/a> haven\u2019t exactly won over the Greatest Showman<\/em> star\u2019s friends. His close friend Nicole Kidman<\/a> has allegedly made it clear she\u2019s not interested in spending time with Foster, and now it seems that another one of Jackman\u2019s longtime friends isn\u2019t on the best terms with the Tony-winning actress either.<\/p>\n

Halle Berry<\/a> has been friends with Jackman for decades, with a source telling Globe<\/em><\/a> in July 2026 that she\u2019s his \u201cclosest friend among all the leading ladies he has worked with since the turn of the century, [and] the loyalty goes both ways.\u201d <\/p>\n

The insider added, \u201cHalle isn\u2019t very personally close to a lot of male actors she has worked with, but Hugh is the big exception there, and they absolutely have plans to do more work together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jackman\u2019s ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, reportedly supported his friendship with Berry and even \u201ccheered on this dynamic.\u201d However, Foster isn\u2019t willing to do the same. According to the insider, Foster has \u201czero interest\u201d in befriending Berry, supposedly because she\u2019s \u201ca somewhat less confident and more insecure person than Deb ever was.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although that hasn\u2019t happened yet, Jackman remains \u201coptimistic\u201d that Foster and Berry \u201cwill find common ground, just like Deb and Halle managed to do all those years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

As previously mentioned, Jackman\u2019s friendship with Kidman has become strained<\/a> due to his romance with Foster. In May 2026, one source told Woman\u2019s Day<\/em><\/a> that Kidman\u2019s \u201cloyalty has to be with Deb as she\u2019s been a shoulder for her many times throughout the past three years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even though Deb feels \u201cnervous\u201d about reentering the dating scene, Kidman\u2019s \u201cone of the key friends in her life helping her take that step.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to supporting Deb, sources say that Kidman hopes she and Jackman can eventually repair their friendship. At this time, she\u2019s \u201cnot ready to start playing nice\u201d with Foster because it\u2019s \u201cstill too raw and way too soon,\u201d but she\u2019s hoping \u201cthings between Deb and Hugh will settle down over time and she doesn\u2019t have to exclude him from her world for too long.\u201d<\/p>\n
