Australian melodic metalcore band Windwaker<\/strong> have officially announced their third studio album, \u2018smile, you\u2019re on camera.,\u2019<\/strong> while introducing fans to a new single with the premiere of the music video for \u201ccloser.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Set for release on October 23 via Fearless Records<\/strong>, the upcoming full-length follows the band\u2019s previous album \u2018HYPERVIOLENCE\u2019<\/strong> and continues their evolution with a more guitar-driven and analog-focused approach.<\/p>\n

Windwaker described \u201ccloser\u201d<\/strong> as a reflection of the uncertainty and sacrifices that come with pursuing a life in music:<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018closer\u2019 is an allegory for the struggles of being in a band dealing with rejection, self-doubt, and the resilience in spite of that to keep going with something you\u2019ve given everything to. It\u2019s a message for all to keep trying and strive further toward their goals.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The band added that the song explores the difficult choice between walking away for a more traditional path or continuing to commit to something they have invested years into building.<\/p>\n

A press release further detailed the themes behind \u2018smile, you\u2019re on camera.,\u2019<\/strong> describing the album as a collection focused on growth, pressure, sacrifice and remaining authentic in an increasingly superficial world.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018smile, you\u2019re on camera.\u2019 ruminates on the weight of time and growth, struggles and sacrifice for the better life and authenticity in spite of a world full of superficial and sinister characters and bad actors.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The record is described as a more introspective release that captures different moments from the band\u2019s journey rather than following a traditional narrative.<\/p>\n
