While dumping on President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s abysmal attempt at comedy during Friday\u2019s White House Correspondents\u2019 Association dinner<\/a>, \u201cDaily Show\u201d<\/a> host Jon Stewart<\/a> also had some choice words for the hosts of the event.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cBut it was the next moment that, for me, solidified that this event is worse than pro forma,\u201d Stewart said. \u201cIt\u2019s actually an act of submission.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Stewart then showed a portion of Wolf Blitzer\u2019s speech presenting Wall Street Journal journalists<\/a> with an award for their reporting on Trump\u2019s relationship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>. In the clip, Trump could be seen laughing and shrugging when Blitzer said that the president\u2019s $20 billion lawsuit against the newspaper revealed the home address of reporter Khadeeja Safdar, forcing her family to relocate for their safety. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cShe wrote an objectively true story about my depraved relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. And I got her life threatened,\u201d Stewart said, impersonating Trump. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cDid I do that?\u201d he continued, giving the impression a Steve Urkel twist. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Stewart added that he expected members of the press to be mad at Trump for his numerous attacks on the free press, but said they seemed to be acting as if it was business as usual. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cSo, he just gets to shake hands with the leaders of a profession, with the leaders of a profession whose members he has subpoenaed, arrested, sued, cut their funding, threatened their licenses, barred their access, and even had fucking deported,\u201d Stewart said while showing clips of the WSJ reporters shaking hands with Trump after receiving the award. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Stewart also noted that the Epstein Files release might have gone differently if Trump had known there was an award involved. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cHe\u2019d have told them about the Epstein Files himself,\u201d Stewart said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Watch his full opening segment from Monday night\u2019s show here: <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
