This year\u2019s theme,\u00a0<br \/>\n\u201cGames &amp; Entertainment of the Fur Trade Era,\u201d highlights the lively contests, traditional pastimes, and cultural\u00a0<br \/>\nexchanges that once filled the summer gathering at Grand Portage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Held the second weekend of August each year, Rendezvous Days remains the Monument\u2019s largest celebration of the\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>year, featuring historical reenactments, hands-on workshops, music, dancing, and craft demonstrations. Admission is\u00a0<br \/>\nfree, and visitors are welcome to come as they are\u2014no period clothing required.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Event Highlights<br \/>\u2022 Daily programs from 9 am to 5 pm throughout the Historic Depot, stockade, Ojibwe Village, and encampment\u00a0<br \/>areas<br \/>\u2022 Demonstrations of historic games, including Anishinaabe traditional games, English vs. French checkers, billiards,\u00a0<br \/>Jeu du Trac, and more<br \/>\u2022 Interactive workshops, children\u2019s scavenger hunts, historic garden tours, dye-pot demonstrations, and live music\u00a0<br \/>into Saturday evening<br \/>\u2022 Access to the reconstructed Great Hall, Kitchen, Canoe Warehouse, and heritage exhibits<\/p>\n<p>Shuttle service is available courtesy of the National Parks of Lake Superior Foundation.
