Kevin Jonas<\/a> helped to hold down the fort on Live With Kelly and Mark<\/a><\/em> amid Kelly Ripa<\/a>\u2018s absence.<\/p>\n The Jonas Brothers<\/a> singer sat alongside Mark Consuelos<\/a> during the daytime talk show\u2019s Monday, July 27, episode. During the show, Consuelos explained that Ripa is taking time off from the series after undergoing a gum graft surgery<\/a>. \u201cHer dentist said five years ago, \u2018You can do it in about five years.\u2019 And she joked, \u2018I didn\u2019t think I\u2019d still be on the air in five years,\u2019\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n Consuelos revealed Ripa is prohibited from speaking amid her recovery, to which Jonas quipped, \u201cWow. That\u2019s gotta be the hardest thing that she\u2019s ever done.\u201d Consuelos noted that Ripa\u2019s recovery is \u201cpainful,\u201d stating, \u201cShe famously doesn\u2019t feel pain. When she goes into the dentist, she doesn\u2019t really use the Novocain. But this one hurts, so I know it\u2019s bad.\u201d<\/p>\n Jonas, who said he was wishing Ripa \u201cwell,\u201d joined Consuelos to interview the day\u2019s guests, Common<\/a> and Mary Beth Barone<\/a>, and helped host a segment about must-know phone hacks. Fans took to the show\u2019s Instagram page to share their thoughts on Jonas\u2019 guest-hosting gig.<\/p>\n \u201cMY FAVORITE JONAS BROTHER love him so much!! @kevinjonas,\u201d one Instagram user captioned underneath a clip<\/a> from the show on Monday. Kelly\u2019s not. How\u2019s she feeling?\u201d he asked Consuelos, who replied, \u201cShe\u2019s feeling better. She\u2019s saying certain things.\u201d Consuelos noted that Ripa is technically not allowed to speak, but has been doing so \u201cwithout moving her bottom lip.\u201d<\/p>\n He added, \u201cShe got a lot of love messages. People were checking in, \u2018cause we announced it on the show that she had surgery. We got ice cream delivered last night by our [friends] out in Palm Springs. Really good ice cream.\u201d<\/p>\n Tuesday\u2019s episode featured guests Joe Buck<\/a> and Lacey Chabert<\/a>, as well as a segment about helpful home hacks.
