The British royal family has rather unusual eating habits. According to royal chef Daren McGrady, when Princess Diana first joined the family, she ate very little and asked for fat-free versions of all her meals because Prince Charles had the temerity to tell her she had no waistline. And Prince Philip liked to go into the kitchen himself and eat the food that was prepared for the palace staff. Because of Queen Elizabeth’s habit of being late for every family dinner, the whole family lied about the dinner schedule so that she would actually be on time. For example if dinner was at 8:30 they would tell her it was 8:15. Also, the family had special menus where they could order their favorite dishes and order several days in advance.
