Over the course of the next few months, we will all fall in and out of love with scores of new national final and Eurovision entries. But that doesn’t mean we forget about the artists from past contests.

Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.

Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.

New music from Eurovision artists: 2025 | Week 8

Joost – Unity (inc. “United By Music” with Tommy Cash)

It’s been a year of highs and lows for Joost. The Dutch performer has now captured all of this in his latest album Unity. The biggest high is certainly the inclusion of his viral Eurovision 2024 entry “Europapa,” which was a big favourite in the contest.

However, Joost’s time in Malmö was cut short following his disqualification. His thoughts about this event are captured in a number of the LP’s songs. A notable one of these is “United By Music,” a collaboration with Tommy Cash, Estonia’s selected entrant for Eurovision 2025. The pair take aim at Eurovision organisers (literally stating “F*ck the EBU”) and their hypocrisy to parade a banner of peace and unity whilst also allowing the contest to come under disrepute.

Throughout the song, Joost and Tommy also sing from the point of view of hypocritical organisations more generally, aiming to highlight their insincerity and two-facedness by using various examples: “I want to fly to Kyiv and go to Moscow / I wanna vote Kamala and also vote Trump.” However, the decision to include certain lines has raised eyebrows for their lack of self-awareness: “I used to love McDonald’s, but I’m never going back / I know that I’m white, but I wish that I was —”

The song ends with the pair indicating they don’t mean any specific harm with its content: “Joost Klein, Tommy — that’s unity / This song is so funny, it’s not that deep.”

Hadise – “Fırtınam”

Hadise begins a new chapter with “Fırtınam” (“My Storm”). Türkiye’s Eurovision 2009 star is saying goodbye to a past failed relationship and is now creating a tempest to change the course of her life: “I’m leaving your life regardless of the pain / My storm erupted from where it broke in my heart.” In a post on social media, Hadise went into more detail about the start of this new journey:

“With ‘Fırtınam’, I entered a period where I rediscovered myself and you will hear this in the songs that will follow. Music is always a feeling for me… When I catch that feeling, when I find myself with the right songs, I move into an incredibly creative world. ‘Fırtınam’ came to me in 2019 but it is clearly the song of 2025. Some songs wait like this… I would like to thank everyone who contributed to our song and video. This is a team effort and I am proud of my team!”

Jerry Heil feat. Evgeny Khmara – “РОЗЧИНЯЮСЬ”

“I dissolve in you and coffee becomes honey / I dissolve in you and tea becomes stronger / I dissolve in you and our solution becomes a little bitter.”

This is the second single from Jerry Heil’s upcoming album. Ukraine’s Eurovision 2024 star delivers a song about love, where everyone can find their own story. “РОЗЧИНЯЮСЬ” (“Dissolves”) is based on the poetry of Yuriy Izdryk (“Cycles” and “Solvere”) and was created in collaboration with virtuoso pianist Yevhen Khmara. Writing about this partnership in the music video’s description, Jerry Heil notes:

“‘РОЗЧИНЯЮСЬ’ is the result of a creative collaboration between three types of art: poetry, instrumental music, and vocals. I have long been fascinated by the work of Yuriy Izdryk – his poetry has always felt like songs to me, which simply don’t have melodies yet. I am also a fan of the incredible composer, Yevhen Khmara, so creating such a creative trio was a natural step. Difficult times have created a good trend – we are increasingly turning to artists who have gone down in history, we are inspired by them. However, it is equally important to support and know the work of those who create culture here and now, side by side with us. Working on this song was pure and unfiltered creative energy. I am infinitely grateful for this synergy, because this is how true art is born – through the interaction of different forms and souls.”

KEiiNO – “HALO”

“Be my religion / Something to die for / Heartache and ecstasy / If I should die for you / Show me your halo.”

KEiiNO are ready to take us to heaven — that is, Heaven the night club. Norway’s Eurovision 2019 group bring us a delicious electro-dance-pop tune that, as always, includes sprinklings of traditional joik and Sámi folk. In the visualiser’s description, KEiiNO reveal more about the song’s inspiration:

“Imagine it’s Sunday morning, the world is ending, and you’re partying at your favourite club. Eurovision 2024 stars, Nebulossa, have teamed up with popular Spanish singer Mónica Naranjo for “Venenosa” (“Poisonous”) — an electropop track with a driving beat.

In the lyrics, Mery and Mónica have had enough of their partners’ lies and mistreatment. As a result, they’re letting the venom flow through their veins and are on the hunt for something else to satisfy their desires: “Against my own volition, I’ve become poisonous / Late at night, I’ve started having wet dreams / Wrapped in my pink bed sheets […] I never think about you anymore: I have other things in mind / I’ve become greedy / I was the toxic one.”

Flo Rida feat. The voice you hear in the chorus is American rapper Sage the Gemini. The isolation without her ex-partner has not affected Sertab too much. However, she is constantly wondering whether the same is true of them or not: “How are you really / Since we haven’t met / Where are you now, what do you do / Didn’t you miss me at all / Didn’t you miss me / The devil inside me doesn’t keep quiet.”

Francesco Gabbani – Dalla tua parte

Following his eighth-place finish at Festival di Sanremo 2025, Francesco Gabbani is keeping the music alive with the release of his new studio album. Dalla tua parte (On your side) features ten songs — including his Sanremo entry “Viva la vita,” as well as other recent singles “Frutta Malinconia” and “Vengo a Fidarmi di te.” That means there are seven charming new songs for fans to dive into.

Kalomira – “Heartbreaker”

Following on from last week’s single “14/02,” Kalomira has another heartbreak anthem for us.
