To help you decide which stars you should see in person, and budget accordingly, Playbill has compiled a list of A-listers\u00a0whose shows you can see right now and those who\u00a0are set to hit the New York stage in the coming months.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Many of the actors listed in this article are no strangers to the theatre, but are better known for their appearances in film, television, or music. And several are making their Broadway or Off-Broadway debuts. We&#8217;ve also included notable stars of the stage (such as Audra McDonald and Bernadette Peters).\u00a0Below are the many, many stars of the season. The dark comedy follows one\u00a0woman in rural Louisiana who has a secret that is both her greatest gift and her only way out. Tony winner (and original Glinda)\u00a0Kristin Chenoweth is collaborating with composer Stephen Schwartz on a new musical:\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-crosslink=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/playbill.com\/production\/the-queen-of-versailles-broadway-st-james-theatre-2025\">The Queen of Versailles<\/a>. Chenoweth will play real-life socialite\u00a0Jackie Siegel who, with her husband David (played by F. His run, alongside Eva Noblezada as Sally Bowles,\u00a0will continue through July 20. While the production has not released details about Peck&#8217;s costuming, they released the first look\u00a0photo above, hinting that Peck&#8217;s face will be obscured\u00a0for his Broadway debut.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Plus, pop singer Adam Lambert and screen star Auli&#8217;i Cravahlo (Moana, Mean Girls) made their respective Broadway debuts as the Emcee and Sally Bowles in the ongoing\u00a0revival September 16, 2024. Burgess is best known for starring as Titus Andromedon in Netflix&#8217;s\u00a0Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, but he&#8217;s\u00a0no stranger to the stage. He was last seen on Broadway as Harold Zidler in\u00a0Moulin Rouge!, and has also played roles in\u00a0Guys and Dolls,\u00a0Good Vibrations,\u00a0Jersey Boys, and\u00a0The Little Mermaid on the Main Stem.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Oh, Mary! blew me away when I saw it on Broadway,&#8221; Burgess said in an earlier statement. &#8220;Cole Escola is a genius! The show is fresh and impossibly funny. I understand the role of Mary Todd Lincoln maybe a little too well. I\u2019m over the moon with joy that I get to join the company at The Lyceum Theatre.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Emmy Award nominee Betty Gilpin, who currently stars in the Cole Escola play,\u00a0first rose to notoriety playing a female wrestler in Netflix&#8217;s series Glow. She&#8217;s since followed it up with Nurse Jackie and the current Netflix series American Primeval. Nicole Scherzinger is known primarily as the lead singer of the girl group The Pussycat Dolls and as a judge on The X Factor. But she&#8217;s been slowly building up her stage career, courtesy of composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. She starred as Grizabella in Cats in the West End in 2015, which earned her her first Olivier Award nomination. Her performance as Norma Desmond last year in the West End revival of Sunset Blvd. brought her the Olivier Award. The new musical Death Becomes Her marks\u00a0her fourth Broadway credit\u2014she was last seen in 2018 in the Once On This Island revival. And this latest project leans fully into Williams&#8217; pop diva persona\u2014she plays the beautiful and mysterious Viola Van Horn, who offers up an immortality potion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As Williams <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/playbill.com\/article\/on-the-opening-night-of-death-becomes-her-on-broadway-megan-hilty-received-flowers-from-meryl-streep\">told Playbill<\/a> opening night of the show:\u00a0&#8220;I don&#8217;t take any of it for granted at all. Menzel stars as Jesse,\u00a0a woman who finds herself\u00a0in a Northern California redwood forest after a life-altering event. Menzel also co-conceived the work with director Tina Landau, who wrote the book and lyrics.<\/p>\n<p>Jesse is just another towering role for Menzel, who&#8217;s had no shortage of them: in addition to the original cast of\u00a0Wicked\u00a0and\u00a0Rent, Menzel also voiced Elsa in\u00a0Frozen. Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal), Cooper Hoffman (son of Philip Seymour Hoffman and star of Licorice Pizza), and Christian Slater (Heathers) play members of the Tate family, who are struggling to keep ahold of their rundown family farm. Performances began February 4 for the show, which is\u00a0produced by The New Group and will run at the Signature Center. Now, Hyland is back\u00a0on Broadway as the &#8220;golden girl&#8221;\u00a0Daisy Buchanan in the musical\u00a0The Great Gatsby, taking over for original cast member Eva Noblezada. She took the stage the same day as the show&#8217;s new Gatsby,\u00a0Ryan McCartan, beginning February 10. Hawke&#8217;s credits have been on the screen so far (Asteroid City,\u00a0Inside Out 2) but she comes from\u00a0a respected stage pedigree.\u00a0Her parents are Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, who also have Broadway credits.
