Os m\u00fasicos do Third Angle Sarah Tiedemann, Will Pyle e Valdine Mishkin ao lado do m\u00fasico convidado Daniel Reyes Llin\u00e1s tocaram Reich&#8217;s <em>Vermonte<\/em>, <em>Nova Iorque<\/em>, <em>Violoncelo,<\/em> e <em>El\u00e9trico<\/em> <em>Contrapontos<\/em>respectivamente. A m\u00fasica de Reich tem sido uma parte essencial do repert\u00f3rio do Third Angle h\u00e1 anos, por isso foi apropriado que encontrassem uma forma \u00fanica de celebrar o compositor que completa noventa anos este ano. <\/p>\n<p>Os quatro <em>Contraponto<\/em> obras de Steve Reich foram compostas ao longo de um per\u00edodo de vinte e um anos, desde 1982 <em>Contraponto de Vermont<\/em> para 2003 <em>Contraponto para violoncelo<\/em>. Cada um foi escrito para um instrumento diferente: <em>Contraponto de Vermont<\/em> para flauta, <em>Contraponto de Nova York<\/em> para clarinete, <em>Contraponto El\u00e9trico<\/em> para guitarra el\u00e9trica e <em>Contraponto para violoncelo<\/em>sem surpresa, para violoncelo. Todos foram compostos para um int\u00e9rprete ao vivo junto com uma fita de \u00e1udio de partes pr\u00e9-gravadas no mesmo instrumento, construindo um complexo de pequenos motivos dentro dos quais \u00e9 poss\u00edvel. Dito de outra forma, \u00e9 uma m\u00fasica composta vinte anos antes do pedal looper. Fotos de Charles Rose.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/letshopscotch.com\/locations\/portland\">Amarelinha<\/a> \u00e9 um espa\u00e7o de artes contempor\u00e2neas no Central Eastside de Portland, inaugurado em 2023. \u00c9 semelhante a outros espa\u00e7os de artes multim\u00eddia que t\u00eam surgido nas \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas, como <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/meowwolf.com\/\">Miau Lobo<\/a>. Hopscotch, assim como Meow Wolf, cria uma atmosfera fant\u00e1stica de pe\u00e7as de arte interativas.<\/p>\n<p>Cruzar a soleira da entrada e verificar o casaco parece mais como se algu\u00e9m estivesse entrando em uma boate. O sal\u00e3o do lado de fora da entrada tocava m\u00fasica suave de sintetizador \u00e0 la <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=EhQpXD2Z9WQ\">Sonho de tangerina<\/a>com a \u00e1rea de estar revestida com ilumina\u00e7\u00e3o neon retrowave. As instala\u00e7\u00f5es ficam ao longo de um corredor linear e sinuoso com salas para uma parada ao longo do caminho.<\/p>\n<p>O desempenho do <em>Contrapontos<\/em> aconteceu em pontos ao longo da jornada da amarelinha. Third Angle tocou cada pe\u00e7a logo ap\u00f3s a \u00faltima, deixando pouco tempo para os espectadores fazerem paradas ao longo do caminho. (Cheguei atrasado em pelo menos uma parada por causa disso.) Tamb\u00e9m tivemos que nos amontoar bem em cada espa\u00e7o ou nos contentar em ficar na periferia. Ap\u00f3s o t\u00e9rmino de cada pe\u00e7a, por\u00e9m, foi f\u00e1cil fazer a ronda e ver as instala\u00e7\u00f5es novamente. A entrada e sa\u00edda de convidados ajudou a aliviar isso, pois eles puderam acomodar v\u00e1rios grupos fazendo as rondas simultaneamente. <\/p>\n<div class=\"oaw-ad-wrap oaw-ad-instory-wrap\">\n<div class=\"oaw-ad\" data-id=\"245238\" data-location=\"in-story-banner\"><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/playmys.org\/concert\/the-soul-within-tchaikovskys-sixth\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.orartswatch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/MYS-Mar-1-Concert-970x250-RZD.jpg?fit=970%2C250&amp;ssl=1&amp;cb=1771979409\" alt=\"Concerto de m\u00fasica sinf\u00f4nica juvenil metropolitana Newmark Theatre Portland Oregon\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>A primeira parada foi na sala \u201cLaser Graffiti\u201d, onde o Diretor Art\u00edstico da 3A, Tiedemann, se apresentou <em>Contraponto de Vermont<\/em>. Tiedemann fez trocas frequentes entre uma flauta padr\u00e3o e um flautim. Os convidados podiam desenhar na proje\u00e7\u00e3o de uma parede de tijolos rasterizados usando ponteiros laser feitos para parecerem latas de tinta spray. Havia apenas quatro dispon\u00edveis, ent\u00e3o a maioria das pessoas n\u00e3o teve a chance de us\u00e1-los. A maioria dos clientes contentava-se em desenhar rabiscos sem rumo \u2013 poucos rabiscos, etiquetas ou ins\u00edgnias, embora uma pessoa tenha desenhado uma joaninha. Foto de Charles Rose.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>A segunda parada foi na instala\u00e7\u00e3o pr\u00f3xima chamada \u201cAtmosferas Desconhecidas\u201d, de Portland. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.parallel.studio\/work\/unknown-atmospheres\">Est\u00fadio Paralelo<\/a> e Seth Nehil. Aqui o diretor de comunica\u00e7\u00f5es da 3A, Will Pyle, se apresentou <em>Contraponto de Nova York<\/em> no sax soprano. A instala\u00e7\u00e3o apresentava luzes esf\u00e9ricas suspensas no teto, piscando e se movendo em cascatas de cores e formas. Um espelho no fundo da sala aumentou a profundidade percebida dos padr\u00f5es. Os padr\u00f5es n\u00e3o eram coordenados com a m\u00fasica, mas houve momentos de sincronicidade involunt\u00e1ria. N\u00e3o havia muito espa\u00e7o nesta sala, ent\u00e3o muitos convidados sentavam-se de pernas cruzadas no ch\u00e3o sob as luzes ou abra\u00e7avam as paredes nos fundos. <\/p>\n<p>Ent\u00e3o Valdine Ritchie Mishkin se apresentou <em>Contraponto para violoncelo<\/em> em uma sala para uma pe\u00e7a chamada \u201cVJ Yourself\u201d. As lantejoulas azuis de seu vestido pulsavam como est\u00e1tica de televis\u00e3o diante das c\u00e2meras, e seus movimentos de arco se acumulavam como uma barragem opressiva de agulhas. A m\u00fasica de <em>Contraponto para violoncelo<\/em> \u00e9 denso. O artista ao vivo adiciona uma melodia que segue acima dos acordes graves dos violoncelos gravados.<\/p>\n<p>A apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o final foi de <em>Contraponto El\u00e9trico<\/em> do guitarrista Daniel Reyes Llin\u00e1s. Isso aconteceu na \u201cCaverna do Arco-\u00cdris\u201d, que usava milhares de sacos pl\u00e1sticos brancos pingando das paredes e do teto como estalactites. Os dois primeiros movimentos s\u00e3o constru\u00eddos a partir de acordes e pulsa\u00e7\u00f5es, como a abertura da m\u00fasica de Reich <em>M\u00fasica para dezoito m\u00fasicos<\/em>. Llin\u00e1s tocou com um tom de jazz moderno, brilhante e exigente, que conseguiu ficar um pouco acima da parte da fita que acompanhava, originalmente gravada por Pat Metheney. Ap\u00f3s esta pe\u00e7a final, os convidados ficaram livres para passear pela amarelinha para ver as instala\u00e7\u00f5es que podemos ter perdido ao longo do caminho. Tricktronix, um coletivo de artes australiano, criou o \u201cPortal de Luz\u201d, com duas mandalas do tipo fa\u00e7a voc\u00ea mesmo. Em uma tela sens\u00edvel ao toque, voc\u00ea pode ajustar a profundidade, a cor e a velocidade com que a mandala se move, colocando-a em um local onde gostaria que o pr\u00f3ximo convidado a encontrasse. O \u201cTrampolim Qu\u00e2ntico\u201d permitiu que os visitantes saltassem em um trampolim enquanto padr\u00f5es que pareciam um mapa de vento animado respondiam em tempo real aos seus movimentos. <\/p>\n<p>Algumas das instala\u00e7\u00f5es da Amarelinha apresentavam artistas locais. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pdxstreetart.org\/\">Alian\u00e7a de arte de rua de Portland<\/a> teve uma exposi\u00e7\u00e3o com enormes murais pintados diretamente em paredes de concreto por The Earwig, Jennifer Mercede, David Rice, Francisco Morales, Winston the Whale e Casillad Oliver. Quando realizado em um espa\u00e7o como o Hopscotch, o <em>Contraponto<\/em> as pe\u00e7as permitem que conex\u00f5es espont\u00e2neas sejam feitas com tudo o que est\u00e1 ao seu redor. <\/p>\n<p>\u00c0s vezes pode ser dif\u00edcil dizer quais partes foram tocadas ao vivo e quais faziam parte da faixa de apoio, mas suspeito que isso foi intencional por parte de Reich: a performance ao vivo habita a parte da fita em vez de ficar acima dela.
