Daniel Stallworth, the elementary school music teacher who has captured the nation\u2019s attention this year on \u201cAmerican Idol,\u201d will take the stage again tonight.<\/p>\n

Stallworth, originally from Moss Point, survived last week\u2019s cut of two singers that reduced the number of finalists to 14. A second planned cut was not made and will, instead, is expected to happen at the beginning of tonight\u2019s (7 p.m., ABC) episode.<\/p>\n

After the remaining 12 contestants perform \u201990s hits secretly picked by judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie or Carrie Underwood, another singer will be sent home from the competition.<\/p>\n

INITIAL AUDITION:<\/b> Stallworth was introduced to the judges and America as a music teacher from Moss Point. For his audition, he performed \u201cDon\u2019t Stop Believin\u2019\u201d by Journey<\/a> and received nothing but praise from the judges. Needing just two \u201cyes\u201d votes to advance, he received three.<\/p>\n

Music icon Lionel Richie was the first with praise, saying \u201cYour students are going to hail you as the greatest thing that has ever shown up in their lives.\u201d Carrie Underwood, a previous American Idol winner, said \u201cmy teeth hurt because I am smiling so much.\u201d Country superstar Luke Bryan was the last to judge Stallworth, saying he was just \u201cthinking about how lucky the kids are to have you.\u201d<\/p>\n

HOLLYWOOD WEEK:<\/b> Again facing elimination, Stallworth sang \u201cStand By Me\u201d by Ben E. King<\/a>. Hollywood Week was a series of two shows where the talent pool was cut from 127 to 30 singers. The show\u2019s three judges, who all had glowing reviews of Stallworth\u2019s audition, each stood and applauded after he finished.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo take a song that we\u2019ve heard so many times and just take it to the rafters of this place, you are a truly special person,\u201d Bryan said.<\/p>\n

OHANA ROUND:<\/b> On a night where the number of singers would be cut from 30 to 20, Stallworth sang \u201cThe Climb\u201d by Miley Cyrus<\/a>. The episode was filmed at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai\u2019i. Stallworth again received a standing ovation from all three judges.<\/p>\n

TOP 20 AT DISNEY:<\/b> The Moss Point native sang \u201cAll Night Long\u201d by Idol judge Richie<\/a> in an episode that aired last week, taking a big chance and getting raves from the judges, including the song\u2019s original singer. The song choice was \u201cthe riskiest thing anyone is doing,\u201d said country music superstar and guest judge Brad Paisley.<\/p>\n

Richie was wowed, saying \u201cI\u2019m going to give a compliment that I\u2019ve never given before. You took that song and made it yours. If you put that out tomorrow, I\u2019ll split (the profits) with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bryan delivered a powerful compliment, adding \u201cYou might be the best singer in this competition.\u201d<\/p>\n

SONGS OF FAITH NIGHT:<\/b> The show began with the elimination of 6 singers: Kutter Bradley, Genevieve Heyward, Aboyami Lewis, Madison Moon, Makiyah Mustiful, Ruby Rae.<\/p>\n

Stallworth was one of the first of the remaining 14 singers to perform, delivering a powerful rendition of \u201cBrighter Days\u201d<\/a> by Blessing Offor.<\/p>\n
