\n\tThe Royals returned to Kauffman Stadium this past week for their last homestand before the All-Star Break. It didn’t start well, as Kansas City was swept during the week by the Tampa Bay Rays, one of the hottest teams in baseball. With fan morale low after the sweep and a poor first half, they also fell flat on the Fourth of July in the first game against the Phillies, despite a pretty packed house (30,000+ in attendance). However, the Royals righted the ship a bit on Sunday and Monday, with victories that helped them take the series against the favored NL East ballclub. And if that wasn’t enough, Kansas City made offensive history with 15 total runs on 22 hits in the series finale against Philadelphia.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
