With fan morale low after the sweep and a poor first half, they also fell flat on the Fourth of July in the first game against the Phillies, despite a pretty packed house (30,000+ in attendance). However, the Royals righted the ship a bit on Sunday and Monday, with victories that helped them take the series against the favored NL East ballclub.
