Over the past few years, Timothée Chalamet has become a household name…at least if your household skews toward younger millennials and Gen Zs.
He has somewhat of a cult following, quickly attracting a devoted fan base after the release of Call Me by Your Name.

While his name might not ring a bell, start listing Timothée Chalamet movies and chances are high that you’ve seen or heard of at least one.
Regardless of your age, by the end of this article, we’re pretty sure you’ll become a Timothée Chalamet fan too.
Let’s start with the basics, like how old is Timothée Chalamet?
Timothée is pronounced just like the name Timothy. As he said to GQ, “I don’t want to be totally unrelatable.”
Timothée Chalamet’s age is 25. His birthday is on Christmas Day, 1995. Timothée Chalamet’s height is exactly six feet. GQ describes him as having “the body of a kid raised in New York, stovepiped like a Stroke, the sort of frame that’s forged in high schools without football teams.”
Does Timothée Chalamet have a girlfriend?
The question seemingly every Timothée Chalamet fan wants to know: does he have a girlfriend?!
The young Hollywood actor has dated several leading ladies throughout the years. GQ reported that he dated Madonna’s daughter Lourdes for almost a year. The pair attended the same NYC high school.
Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez
Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez made entertainment news headlines in 2017 after footage was shared on YouTube of the young Hollywood pair kissing each other.
The curse of a young Hollywood actor is all of having all of your adolescent moments blasted around the world––one of the reasons behind Hollywood.com’s movement to #BanPaparazzi by not publishing any paparazzi photos––so we doubt this little moment amounted to anything more serious.
Timothée Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp
The talented duo who starred alongside each other in The King reportedly dated for at least a year starting in October 2018. In March 2021, the pair were recently spotted together in New York City, and some suspect they are together again (as if no one has ever gone for a walk with their ex *eye roll*).
10 very random Timothée Chalamet facts that are more interesting than who he is dating
Because dating gossip and rumors are not as interesting in our not-so-humble opinion!
- Timothée Chalamet went to LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, sharing an alma mater with Al Pacino, Jennifer Aniston, Nicki Minaj, and Ansel Elgort.
- Like many now A-list celebrities, his first role was as a murder victim in a 2009 episode of Law and Order.
- He’s a big fan of the New York Knicks.
- He idolizes Kid Cudi and credits the rapper for making him want to pursue an acting career. “He really inspired me to be an artist in a lot of ways, which sounds cheesy,” he says in conversation with James Corden in 2017.
- Timothée Chalamet even rapped for fun in high school, going by the name Lil’ Timmy Tim or simply Timmy Tim.
- He auditioned for Tom Holland’s role in Spiderman: Homecoming. “I read twice and I left sweating in a total panic,” he recalls in a 2018 interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
- You can get a candle that apparently smells like him. Called “This Smells Like Timothée,” the scented candle includes notes of peach, bergamot, mandarin, magnolia, sandalwood, cedar, amber, musk, and vanilla. One reviewer says, “This was a gift for my great niece for Christmas. I couldn’t quite figure out why the candle was named for smelling like a Timothee. Didn’t know what a ‘Timothee’ was and found out it was a who….not a what. Then I was concerned that it smelled like a human. How good could that be? Well, the great niece was so pleased with the candle…She told me that is the way Timothee really smelled like.” I’d like to know how her great niece knows what Timothée Chalamet smells like.
- The Perks of Being A Wallflower is reportedly his favorite coming-of-age book/movie.
- His go-to karaoke song is “Heart-Shaped Box”
- There is an entire Instagram account dedicated to photoshopping Timothée Chalamet into classic works of art called @chalametinart. We’ll leave you with one:
Timothée Chalamet movies: Interstellar
Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar was Timothée Chalamet’s first major movie role, where he played a younger version of Casey Affleck’s character Tom.
what kinda mandela effect nonsense made me forget timothee chalamet was in interstellar
— ? (@dunwaIl) July 8, 2018
“When I did Interstellar, I saw that 12 times in theaters and IMAX,” Timothée Chalamet says to Emma Stone in an Actors on Actors conversation. He goes on to say that he cried to his dad for an hour because he expected to be seen in the movie more which is just so endearing!
what’s my favorite thing about Timotheé Chalamet? it would have to be that he cried after watching Interstellar (2014) because he thought he would be in it more.
— mary beth (@marybethbarone) May 11, 2020
Before Interstellar, you may have spotted Timmy in the second season of Homeland as Finn Walden, the son of the Vice President.

Timothée Chalamet movies: Call Me by Your Name (2017)
Based on a novel of the same name by André Aciman, Call Me by Your Name is considered Timothée Chalamet’s breakthrough role.
Loved by critics and moviegoers alike, The Economist said Timothée Chalamet “evokes so many shades of humanity, portraying a path of youthful self-discovery that is more raw, unhinged, and ultimately honest than many actors could manage.”
(We’re not going to talk about his co-star because we’re all about the feel-good news here.)
He was nominated for many awards, including the Academy Award for Best Actor, becoming the third-youngest actor ever.
saw call me by your name and cried over how beautiful timothée chalamet is

“I’ll be endlessly thankful and stupefied that you put an actor with so little street cred as myself into a role as layered, and complex, and contradictory, and confused as Elio Perlman,” Timothée Chalamet says in an acceptance speech at the Hollywood Film Awards in November 2017.
“I’ve never acted with any sort of public image in mind,” he said to GQ in 2018. “with anybody expecting anything, and it freaks me out a little.… If I had known people would be seeing Call Me by Your Name, I don’t know if it would’ve come out the same way.”
More recently, rapper Lil Nas X referenced the film in his smash hit “MONTERO (Call Me by Your Name).” Considering Timothée Chalamet is known to stan Kid Cudi, Lil B, and Cardi B, we’re dying to know what he thinks about the song!

Timothée Chalamet movies: Lady Bird (2017)
2017 was a big year for Timothée Chalamet. The coming-of-age film is the first time we’re blessed with Saoirse Ronan and Timothée Chalamet together in one fantastic film directed by the great Greta Gerwig.
Timothée Chalamet plays Kyle Scheible, who meets Saoirse’s character at a coffee shop and they start dating. Little White Lies describes his character perfectly as “the crush archetype formed in our early teens and carried through into the adult dating world, even though we should know better.”
Indiewire says how it could be easy to play a parody version of Kyle, but “Timothée Chalamet roots him in something real. He finds the perfect middle ground between posturing and innocence, allowing us to laugh at Kyle without ever writing him off as a joke.”

Timothée Chalamet movies: Hostiles (2017)
The Western drama from Scott Cooper based on a story by Donald E. Stewart stars Timothée Chalamet as Pvt. Philippe Dejardin alongside Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike. While his role is small, the film was well-reviewed, described by one critic from Empire as “a finely crafted Western.”

Timothée Chalamet movies: Hot Summer Nights (2018)

Timothée Chalamet movies: Beautiful Boy (2018)
Beautiful Boy is a bio-drama film based on two memoirs: Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction by David Sheff and Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines by his son Nic Sheff. Each memoir talks about Nic’s drug addiction from the perspective of both Nic and his father.
Timothée Chalamet stars as Nic Sheff alongside Steve Carrell as his father David Sheff. One critic said, “Carell and Chalamet are both so good, you long to see them simply interact with each other for an extended period.” She goes on to say, “Twitching and raging through highs and lows, Chalamet is James Dean-ing the hell out of the role.”
BEAUTIFUL BOY confirms that Timothée Chalamet has that rare one-to-one relationship with the camera. Anything that plays on his face, you feel in your gut.

Timothée Chalamet earned Best Supporting Actor nominations from the Golden Globe Awards, SAG Awards, Critics’ Choice Awards, and the BAFTA Awards. He won the 2018 Hollywood Film Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Timothée Chalamet movies: A Rainy Day in New York (2019)
The rom-com written and directed by Woody Allen stars Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez in a love triangle with Elle Fanning.
The movie was not a hit, but it seems Timothée Chalamet did the best he could with the role he was given. “Like so many lead actors in the [Woody] Allen films where he doesn’t appear, he gives a performance where he has been clearly asked to deliver his lines in as close of an approximation to Allen’s familiar cadences as he can muster,” one critic says.
The production coincided with the Me Too movement which brought past issues with Woody Allen to the forefront of the public conversation. Many of the film’s actors decided to donate their salaries to charitable organizations, including Timothée Chalamet.
“This year has changed the way I see and feel about so many things…I am learning that a good role isn’t the only criteria for accepting a job––that has only become much clearer to me in the past few months, having witnessed the birth of a powerful movement intent on ending injustice, inequality, and above all, silence,” said Timothée Chalamet in a statement shared on Instagram in January 2018. “I don’t want to profit from my work on the film,” he goes on to say, in response to those asking about his decision to work on A Rainy Day in New York, “and to that end, I am going to donate my entire salary to three charities: TIME’S UP, The LGBT Center in New York, and RAINN. I want to be worthy of standing shoulder to shoulder with the brave artists who are fighting for all people to be treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.”

Timothée Chalamet movies: The King (2019)
This war movie is based on several William Shakespeare plays.
Timothée Chalamet stars as Young Prince Hal turned King Henry V of England. The film follows his transformation from a hungover, party-loving teen to an idol for the entire country. Joel Edgerton plays Sir John Falstaff, Robert Pattinson plays Louis, The Dauphin, and Lily-Rose Depp plays Catherine of Valois.

While the movie was not always historically accurate, fans loved seeing Timothée Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp together, fawning over their coordinating red carpet outfits at the Venice Film Festival.

Timothée Chalamet movies: Little Women (2019)
Timothée Chalamet and Saoirse Ronan reunite for Greta Gerwig’s Little Women and it was a delightful reunion to watch on the big screen along with many other Hollywood greats including Laura Dern, Meryl Streep, Emma Watson, and Florence Pugh.
okay but can we talk about the little women cast? the saoirse ronan, the emma watson, the florence pugh, the eliza len, the timothée chalamet, the laura dern, the meryl streep i’m like?? can you name a better cast??

— Richard (@richkbristol) August 25, 2020
real question for the tl: how are there people who watch timothée as laurie in little women and not fall in love with him?
— soly ✨ (@chlamt) March 31, 2021
Timothée Chalamet and Florence Pugh (who plays Amy) talked to Harpers Bazaar about their love triangle (spoiler alert: the pair end up together at the end of the movie and the classic novel).
“Just because people who are socially or colloquially compatible, or who were compatible in their youth, it doesn’t mean they should be together,” said Timothée Chalamet in an interview with Harpers Bazaar. “Amy and Laurie fulfill things for one another and play things for one another. That might not be as immediately satisfying, but it is in a life-long way. It’s a healthy, reciprocal feedback loop.”
part of Timothée’s appeal is that you’re tricked into thinking you’re the only person who finds him that sexy. so your brain is thinking you might have a chance. which makes him even sexier. this is an illusion created by Big Chalamet to sell more Little Women digital copies

Timothée Chalamet and Harry Styles on representing a new form of masculinity
The actor and pop star have often been compared to each other, with tons of accounts dedicated to the star-studded duo. i-D says “Together they represent a new masculinity, one that’s sensitive, thoughtful, creative, and unafraid to be who they are.” We have i-D to thank for getting the two together for a phone interview in 2018 where Harry Styles interviews Timothée Chalamet.
The interview reads more like a conversation where we get to witness both celebs talk about journaling, the struggles of social media, and how they both represent a new form of masculinity. “Thinking about where the world’s at today, do you feel a responsibility as an actor to represent a new form of masculinity on screen? The concept of masculinity has changed so much since we were growing up,” Harry Styles asks.
“I was going to ask you a version of that question but I worried it would be giving myself too much credit to think I could make a change like that. But, if you are giving me that license then I would say absolutely. It’s one of the reasons I’m so happy to get on the phone with you because growing up we did have some people to look up to, but it wasn’t as obvious,” Timothée Chalamet says in response. “I want to say you can be whatever you want to be. There isn’t a specific notion, or jean size, or muscle shirt, or affectation, or eyebrow raise, or dissolution, or drug use that you have to take part in to be masculine. It’s exciting. It’s a brave new world.”
Harry Styles chimes in, saying “I think there’s so much masculinity in being vulnerable and allowing yourself to be feminine, and I’m very comfortable with that.”
