Vertical dramas have absolutely consumed my mind and heart, and I simply cannot get enough of those cheesy, romantic, over the top shows. I’m constantly thinking of what more could be added to vertical dramas to make them even more addictive, and I realized: what if our favorite Hollywood actors acted in vertical dramas? The possibilities are endless and exciting. So I got to working, and I have a list of 10 actors who, in my opinion, are the perfect fit for these vertical drama storylines.
Here are 10 actors who would absolutely nail these iconic vertical drama roles:
1. Henry Cavill as a dashing and handsome billionaire CEO. I have always found Henry Cavill to be a suave and irresistibly charming actor. And while we have seen him in plenty of action roles and spy movies, I think we deserve to see him in the CEO avatar. I mean, look at this picture from The Man from U.N.C.L.E.; the suit is made for him.
Warner Bros.
Imagine Henry Cavill in the vertical drama The Double Life of My Billionaire Husband, where he would play a billionaire CEO who gets into a contract marriage and slowly falls in love. It would look something like this:
2. Margaret Qualley as a famous celebrity everyone loves. Ever since the release of The Substance, Margaret Qualley has been on my mind as the perfect on-screen celebrity. Given that, I would love to see her in a role that combines a chaotic love triangle, revenge, and a secret identity plotline. I can just envision her nailing this role!

Imagine Margaret Qualley in the vertical drama Backstage Romance with the Popstar, where she plays a producer who is betrayed by her rockstar boyfriend, and as revenge, reveals her fame and uses it against him. It would look something like this:
3. Connor Storrie as a hot and popular jock in high school. Connor has already stolen our hearts with his role as Ilya in Heated Rivalry, and of course, we want to see him in more such roles—replete with lusty stolen glances, slow-burn desire, and sweaty monologues in locker rooms. He is the perfect cast for a vertical drama.
Accent Aigu Entertainment
Imagine Connor in the vertical drama Waterboy, where he plays the hot, popular jock in high school who picks on the student council president but, in the process, realizes his feelings for him and starts to question his sexuality. It would look something like this:
4. Rosamund Pike as an ultimate revenge queen. After she aced her role in the iconic Gone Girl, I have been waiting to see her in more suspenseful and thrilling roles. Nothing beats her revenge plan against Ben Affleck in the film, and I just know that if she starred in a vertical drama, it would be a roller coaster ride of betrayal and sweet revenge.
20th Century Fox
Imagine Rosamund Pike starring in the vertical drama My Husband Killed Me, then I Won the Mega Ball!, where she plays the role of a woman who is murdered by her husband but gets a chance to go back in time and change her future—and it all starts with winning the mega ball. It would look something like this:
5. Glen Powell as an overwhelmingly charming and flirtatious male lead. It goes without saying: Glen Powell has risen to be one of the most charming and handsome actors out there, who can ace any genre. We’ve seen his rom-com side in Set it Up and his action side in Top Gun: Maverick. I loved these films, but I want to see him in a high-school forbidden romance. And the perfect place for such a role is in a vertical drama.

Imagine Glen Powell starring in the vertical drama Hate to Love You, where he plays the role of a popular high school jock who just happens to attract the attention of his rival’s sister, and they get into an electrifying forbidden relationship. It would look something like this:

6. Jennifer Coolidge as an intense and powerful alpha wolf queen. For starters, Jennifer Coolidge is already a queen and a diva, and we love her in anything that she stars in. But instead of simply being a rich diva, I would like to see her in a supernatural role, where she has powers AND money. Wouldn’t that be amazing?
HBO
Imagine Jennifer Coolidge starring in the vertical drama The Alpha Queen Returns, where she plays the wolf queen who becomes a healer and sends her daughter to another family to avoid war and violence. But when she finds out her daughter is in danger, she comes back and reclaims her throne to get revenge. It would look something like this:
7. Nicholas Galitzine as a handsome and ambitious duke. After watching Red, White & Royal Blue and Mary & George, it is pretty clear that Nicholas was made to play royalty. And obviously, we want more of that. We’ve seen him as a prince and as a lord; it’s now time to see him as a duke.

Imagine Nicholas Galitzine starring in the vertical drama The Lost Son Returns as the Duke, where he plays the role of Arthur, who was kidnapped as a child. He returns, as a duke, and upon finding his family, tries to help them while keeping his identity a secret. It would look something like this:
8. Zoey Deutch as a sweet and passionate country girl. I’ve always loved Deutch, and her accents are always on point. She is truly underrated, and I want to see her in more romantic movies. More specifically, one that has an opposites-attract theme.
Treehouse PIctures
Imagine Zoey Deutch starring in the vertical drama Country Gal to CEO’s Bride, where she plays Emma, an independent girl from the countryside who mistakes the handsome CEO William for someone else, and finds herself in a contract marriage that slowly turns into something more. It would look something like this:
9. Lukas Gage as a seductive and charismatic Lucifer. Now, hear me out: Lukas Gage is a highly underrated actor who nails the most weird, whimsical, and eccentric characters. His character in Smile 2 was so creepy and alluring. And we need more such roles with Lukas as the lead.
HBO
Imagine Lukas Gage starring in the vertical drama Lucifer’s Bride, where he plays Lucifer and comes to the human world under a different name to find the girl from his dreams—and does everything in his power to protect her. It would look something like this:
10. Alexa Demie as a rich and beautiful heiress. It is a crime that we do not see enough of Alexa Demie on our screens, and that needs to be corrected immediately. While I adore her character Maddy in Euphoria, I want to see more of her characters actually winning after having struggled.
HBO
Imagine Alexa Damie starring in the vertical drama The Heiress Strikes Back, where she plays Amelia, who was forced to work as a maid when she was kidnapped as a child, and waits to get her revenge and happy ending until the moment her family finally comes to find her. It would look something like this:
I could go on and on about the actors I would LOVE to see star in vertical dramas, but these ones truly stand out for me. If these ever came true, then I’d be able to sleep peacefully. Which other actor would you like to see in your favorite vertical dramas? Tell us all about it in the comments.
