A movie might look like a bunch of people getting paid too much money to play pretend, but it’s really an intricate machine made up of countless delicate moving parts. If any piece goes wrong — the set, the cinematography, the guy whose responsibility it is to coax Jared Leto from his squirrel hole — the whole thing falls apart.
That goes especially for casting. The right actor in the right role can carry an entire crew on their shoulders. Like, nobody liked Bohemian Rhapsody — they liked Rami Malek in Bohemian Rhapsody. But the opposite is true, too; a terrible casting choice can ruin an otherwise perfectly competent movie or series.
That’s why u/4bdn_fruit_ asked r/AskReddit, “What’s the worst casting decision you’ve ever seen for a movie or TV show?”
