The James Watrous Gallery on the third floor of the Overture Center, 201 State St., hosts a concurrent exhibit of colorful works by Tom Antell and Romano Johnson. Antellโs exhibition, โDemocratic Vistas,โ features works โfull of symbolism meant to convey aspects of Native American history and culture.โ โGospel Love Heart,โ Johnsonโs collection of large-scale works, fills the room โwith energy and power.โ Visit Thursday through Sunday, 12 to 5 p.m. An artistsโ reception is set for May 17. Later in the day, Voces De La Frontera will host Freedom Rising: Voices Strong, a benefit concert with music from Gold Dust Women, Honor Among Thieves and The New Kids and spoken word poetry from Cue608 Poets. Tickets costs $20 to benefit Vocesโ Legal Aid and Worker Justice Fund.ย
