Dean Cain rose to fame in the late 1990s for his work in “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.”
The roles have not been quite as prominent for the 59-year-old lately, but he is back in the headlines this week because he is making a big-time move.
The former “Superman” told Fox News’ Jesse Watters that he is joining ICE.
“I put out a recruitment video yesterday, I’m actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer,” Cain told Watters. “I wasn’t part of ICE, but once I put that out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy. So now I’ve spoken with some officials over at ICE, and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent, ASAP.”
Cain told Watters he was motivated to make the move because the country was “built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not,” and that he believes joining ICE is “the right thing.”
“We have a broken immigration system,” Cain told Watters. “Congress needs to fix it, but in the interim, President Trump ran on this. He is delivering on this. This is what people voted for. It’s what I voted for, and he’s going to see it through, and I’ll do my part and help make sure it happens.”
Cain followed that up by responding to one person on X on Wednesday night who said he did not join ICE.
The actor reshared the post and wrote, “And now I have..”
So, it is possible that he has already joined.
He also shared the video of him making his ICE recruiting pitch to X and that created a bit of a stir among his followers. Some cheered him on, and others ripped him.
He reshared some of the jabs and responded.
“This will not somehow resurrect your already (expletive) career (expletive) Superman,” one person wrote.
“Thanks for watching!” Cain replied.
And there were several more interactions like that on his page.
It will be interesting to see if joining ICE means that the actor will now actually join in on deportation operations moving forward.
