Two teams on opposite ends of the standings meet up on Friday night, as the Kansas City Current visit the Utah Royals in a primetime match.

Coming out of the month’s long break, the Current continue to look nearly impossible to beat. After a 2-0 win on the road against Racing Louisville last Friday, the club won seven league matches in a row after losing just two matches thus far. During the pause, Kansas City also won a couple of friendlies to stay fresh. Thanks to this impressive stretch, it is looking more and more like KC has a great chance to secure first place at the end of the regular season.
The Royals have had a tough season, to say the least. The club has just one win this season, and is on its way to another losing season. Though Utah picked up its sixth point of the season in a 1-1 draw with the Orlando Pride, the Royals are on a nine-match winless drought.
The Current is 10 points ahead of Orlando for first, while the Royals are last in the NWSL, 13 points back of a playoff spot.
