Christian "DJ BBQ" Stevenson, host of the "Lost In" TV show, films at Morgan's Cantina in Fall River for an upcoming episode of the travel series.

FALL RIVER — Big Mamie is ready for her closeup, as crews get lost in Fall River this week during filming for the national TV series aptly named “Lost In.”

Cameras will be rolling Aug. 11 through 13 at various locations across the Fall River and Westport gathering footage for an episode titled “LOST IN the Southeast Coast of Massachusetts,” highlighting the local flavor — from cuisine to culture to attractions.

Hosted by Christian Stevenson, better known as DJ BBQ, each half-hour episode shines a spotlight on hidden gem destinations, serving as “a video travelers guide” for viewers seeking ideas for their next road trip or getaway, said Mariah Cardenas, associate producer with Bluewater Media.

“We want what makes a town a city what it’s known for,” Cardenas said. “Where does someone have to go, why do they have to go there, why do they have to try a certain place … it’s a guide to what makes an area so special.”

DJ BBQ kicked off his whirlwind 72-hour tour of Greater Fall River on Monday, fittingly, being welcomed by locals at the Gates of the City.

New Bedford in the spotlight: Prime Video and Tubi TV show films at these city restaurants

Day 1 featured experiences by land and water, as he got his first taste of the city’s culinary scene at the new scenic Morgan’s Cantina Mexican restaurant and explored the city’s waterfront via boat boarded at Borden Light Marina.

According to Cardenas, the first leg of their adventure will also include deep dive into Spindle City’s haunting history at the Second Street home of one of its most notorious residents.

“I think they Lizzie Borden House will be fun,” Cardenas said. “It’s something different. … When you have these hotels or houses or establishments that have a story that is native to the area it’s fun to feature … to see a different reaction from him and get him involved in a different way.”

She noted that the show, heading into its second season, has only featured one other alleged paranormal site — the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas — which will also be a part of season 2.

This isn’t DJ BBQ’s first rodeo in the SouthCoast.

He and his crew recently wrapped filming in New Bedford, where he visited Goulart Square Bakery, PLAY Arcade, Whale’s Tail Clam Bar and the Black Whale, as well as rowed in an Azorean whaleboat and toured the working waterfront.

Like they did in New Bedford, Cardenas said their “Lost In” Fall River-area foodie finds will highlight both upscale and casual spots.

“With the restaurants we like to feature some fine dining and some dive or walk-up places. … We like to give a little something for everybody,” she said.

So where else is DJ BBQ expected to get lost this week?

“Lost In” will also be popping in at Battleship Cove in Fall River, Buzzards Bay Brewing in Westport, and Sagres Restaurant in Fall River.

Cardenas said producers collaborated with the Southeastern Massachusetts Visitors Bureau and local tourism boards to find the region’s top must-visit spots “focusing on the history, the importance of an area and what it means to the locals.”

“It’s a tourism board’s dream,” Cardenas said. They’re trying to draw people to their city, and that’s exactly what this show aims to do.
