Miley Cyrus, Josh Groban, Lyle Lovett and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are among the music stars who are set to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the coming year. They, along with 31 other names from the worlds of recordings, motion pictures, television, live theater/live performance and sports entertainment, were announced at a live press conference from Ovation Hollywood on Wednesday (July 2).

Six Grammy winners are set to be honored – Cyrus, Lovett, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, The Clark Sisters, Intocable and Angélique Kidjo. (In addition to winning two Grammys, Intocable has won three Latin Grammys.)

So are three actors who received plaudits for playing music legends in films: Timothée Chalamet, who was Oscar-nominated for playing Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown; Rami Malek, who won an Oscar for playing Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody; and Marion Cotillard, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose. Mercury received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame posthumously, along with the surviving members of Queen, in 2002.

Two stars will be presented posthumously – to British director/producer Tony Scott and Italian special effects artist Carlo Ramboldi. Both died in 2012. Scott’s older brother, fellow director Ridley Scott, received a star in 2015.

Many other newly approved star recipients come from outside the U.S. – Australian pop group Air Supply, Brazilian musician Paulinho da Costa, Beninese-French musician/actress Kidjo, Mexican entertainer Lucero, Filipino singer/actress Lea Salonga, British actress Emily Blunt, French actress Cotillard, Canadian actress Rachel McAdams, Italian actor Franco Nero, Indian actress Deepika Padukone and British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey.

Two members of the famed “Brat Pack” from the 1980s – Demi Moore and Molly Ringwald – are slated to be honored. They are not the first Brat Packers to receive stars. Rob Lowe was honored in 2015. Moore won both a Golden Globe and a SAG Award (and was nominated for an Oscar) earlier this year for her performance in The Substance.

There will be one double ceremony, honoring Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, co-hosts of ABC’s Good Morning America. The show’s third co-host, Michael Strahan, received a star in 2023.

Salonga and comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias are the only representatives in the Live Theatre/Live Performance category. Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal is the only representative in the Sports Entertainment category.

The honorees were selected by the Walk of Fame selection panel of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce from “hundreds” of nominations at a meeting on June 20. The selections were ratified by the Chamber’s board of directors on June 25.

“We are excited to announce the newest selections of 35 esteemed individuals who will be enshrined onto the Walk of Fame as part of the prestigious Class of 2026,” Peter Roth, former CEO of Warner Bros. Television and chairman of the Walk of Fame selection committee, said in a statement. “These talented individuals have made significant contributions to the world of entertainment, and we are thrilled to honor them with this well-deserved recognition.”

Dates have not yet been scheduled for these star ceremonies. Recipients have two years to schedule star ceremonies from the date of selection before they expire. Upcoming star ceremonies are usually announced 10 days prior to dedication on the Walk of Fame’s official website.
