Melissa Gilbert Hints at TV Return That Fans Have Been Waiting For originally appeared on Parade.
Little House on the Prairie alum Melissa Gilbert gave fans a great teaser about where her work is taking her next.
Gilbert had a guest arc on Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart during Season 12, and she just revealed her character will be a part of Season 13 as well.
On August 12, Gilbert took to Instagram to share the news. The photo she uploaded showed the cover page for a When Calls the Heart script. The script was for episode 6 of the upcoming season.
“Heading back to #hopevalleynext week. Going to play with my pals,” Gilbert wrote in the caption. She added that she couldn’t wait to return and praised the “huge” and “wonderful” cast and crew.
Gilbert tagged a handful of her When Calls the Heart co-stars, including Jack Wagner, Erin Krakow, Ben Rosenbaum, Kevin McGarry, Pascale Hutton, and Kavan Smith.
McGarry was quick to jump in and share a tease of his own. He quipped, “No one gives me scripts! What do I say in episode 6?” A handful of fans responded with their creative suggestions.
Of course, Gilbert couldn’t reveal any big spoilers about what happens when her character, Georgie McGill, returns to Hope Valley. What When Calls the Heart fans know, at the very least, is that she will be back, and she’ll first appear in episode 6 of the new season.
Gilbert may just now be joining filming, but the rest of the When Calls the Heart cast has already been hard at work for a while. On July 2, Krakow shared a short video on her Instagram page revealing filming had started.
Krakow gushed, “We got homesick. @wcth_tv is back in action filming Season 13!”
The revelation that Gilbert would return to When Calls the Heart was an exciting one for eager fans.
One fan commented, “So excited to see Georgie again!”
Another gushed, “My heart is so happy!!”
“Cannot wait to see you back in Hope Valley. Charming everyone there and all of us….of course being tough and courageous as well,” someone else added.
