As the whole world knows by now, TS12 is coming out, and as Taylor Swift said herself, it’s called The Life of a Showgirl. So obviously, many are thinking it could be inspired by the movie that took over the world for a while: The Last Showgirl.
For those who don’t know, The Last Showgirl is a drama that follows a woman named Shelley (played by Pamela Anderson) who has to come to grips with the vintage Las Vegas showgirl act coming to an end after the place she performs decides to close.

So many Swifties think the movie heavily inspired the album, and we broke down why people think this.
So you know how the colors for Swift’s new era are orange and pink? Well, eagle-eyed users on X posted these photos of Anderson in an orange and pink getup for the movie, also in the exact shades as Swift’s new era. They posted the photos with the caption reading, “pamela anderson behind the scenes of the last showgirl (2024).”
People have also pointed out that the movie was released in the US on Swift’s birthday, Dec 13.
And another piece of info people think shows the parallels is that insiders told The US Sun about her secret music video project she was doing in July 2025. They said, “Full details have to be kept under wraps to not spoil any surprises, but the theme is very glam and vintage. Several stylists worked on the looks, and multiple backup dancers were involved who have worked with her for years.”
Vintage? Glam? It’s sounding similar!
