Fans Think Jamie Lee Curtis Just Gave a Subtle Nod to Taylor Swift’s New Album Title originally appeared on Parade.
Jamie Lee Curtis‘ social media followers are pretty convinced that she just showed a subtle message of support for Taylor Swift amid the superstar’s new album announcement.
Just past midnight on Tuesday, Aug. 12, the “Karma” songstress officially dropped the title of her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl—sending the entire internet into an orange-colored frenzy over the big news.
And it appears that even Curtis is joining in on the hype.
Later in the day on Tuesday, the Oscar-winning actress took the opportunity to look back on her own showgirl-inspired work: the 2024 film The Last Showgirl, starring Pamela Anderson.
Sharing several photos from the film to Instagram, Curtis, 66, appeared to be shining a light on the several “showgirls” who were featured in the film, played by Anderson, Billie Lourd, Brenda Song, Kiernan Shipka, Dave Bautista, and, of course, Curtis.
“SHOWGIRLS FOREVER!” the Freakier Friday star captioned her post, while fans in the comments couldn’t help notice the timing of her message.
“The Life of a Showgirl!” one commenter gushed under Curtis’ post, referring to Swift’s new album title, while several other users left orange heart emojis in the comments.
“When I saw the album title this was the first thing that came to my mind,” someone else chimed in, while another agreed The Last Showgirl film was “the first thing” they thought of after Swift, 35, announced the new album title.
Fans in their “showgirl” eras can stream Curtis and Anderson’s film The Last Showgirl now on Hulu and Disney+, but a release date for Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl, has not yet been announced.
