Pamela Anderson Says It’s Hard Not to Fall for Liam Neeson

Pamela Anderson opened up about her connection to boyfriend and Naked Gun costar Liam Neeson.

“He’s such a sweetheart,” the former Baywatch star, 58, revealed in an Esquire interview published on Wednesday, August 13. “He’s so giving and generous and was so complimentary and supportive that, you know, you can’t help but fall in love with Liam.”

Anderson admitted that she was initially intimidated to work with Neeson, 73, on The Naked Gun because of his long list of career achievements. (Neeson received a Best Actor Oscar nomination for Schindler’s List and has also been nominated for three Golden Globes and two Tony Awards.)

“I’m familiar with Liam’s career,” she noted. “He’s had such an incredible career, starting in theater and being part of this acting royalty, you know, from Schindler’s List and all the other films he’s done. So it was intimidating. I was afraid to meet him. I was literally shaking the first day I came to rehearse our first scene. But once we got going, I mean, he’s such a gentleman.”

For his part, Neeson compared Anderson to the “very beautiful, sexy and funny” femme fatale character that she played in The Naked Gun, which hit theaters earlier this month.

“Pamela is all that and more,” he beamed. “Any scene with Pamela Anderson was terrific, and I always looked forward to working with her. I think we got on well. She’s certainly become a new pal. She’s terrific to work with. No big ego, no airs, graces. We had a few laughs on set, yeah. [Her character] Beth and myself, we try to solve the big crime in the film together. We’re butting heads occasionally but that’s part of the fun.”

A source exclusively revealed to Us Weekly earlier this month that Anderson and Neeson developed a friendship while shooting The Naked Gun before realizing their connection went deeper.

“Pamela and Liam are dating,” the insider told Us. “They had chemistry while they were filming, and their friendship naturally developed into something more.”

Another source suggested that the new couple are “learning how to navigate” their relationship in the public eye, since both were previously involved in high-profile romances.

Anderson has been married five times. She shares two children — sons Brandon, born in 1996, and Dylan, born in 1997 — with her first husband, Mötley Crüe rocker Tommy Lee, to whom she was married from 1995 to 1998. She was with Kid Rock from 2006 to 2007 and was married to Rick Salomon twice: first from 2006 to 2007 and then again from 2014 to 2015. Her most recent marriage to Dan Hayhurst ended in divorce in 2022 after two years together.

Neeson was involved with Helen Mirren for five years in the 1980s, later tying the knot with Natasha Richardson in 1994 after they worked together on Broadway. The couple welcomed sons Micheál and Daniel in 1995 and 1996, respectively. Richardson died at the age of 45 in 2009 after being injured in a skiing accident in Canada.

Anderson and Neeson’s children have publicly supported the new couple, and the relationship has also received the backing of the Taken star’s former sister-in-law Joely Richardson. Joely posted seven heart emojis on a carousel of photos of Neeson and Anderson during the Naked Gun press tour in early August.
