As many as six different superhero teams may be appearing in Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the superhero ensemble film will arrive in 2026. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, then follows in 2027.
What teams will be in Avengers: Doomsday?
Scooper Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus was asked what teams and duos MCU fans can expect to see in Avengers: Doomsday.
Perez answered, “Well, there’s Sam’s Avengers, the New Avengers (with the Z), the Fantastic Four, Team Loki, & the X-Men. Oh, and Team Doom (although he doesn’t really need anyone).”
Official plot details for Avengers: Doomsday remain heavily under wraps at this point over at Marvel, meaning this is just a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt; however, these six teams do make sense given they’ve been set up in various projects like Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Loki.
Perhaps the biggest mystery of those six teams would be “Team Doom,” as it’s unclear if Robert Downey Jr.’s character will be recruiting other recognizable supervillains to join his cause, or if he’ll be working with other Doom variants and/or Doombots.
In addition to Downey Jr., the cast of Avengers: Doomsday includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Sim Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammar as Beast, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, Channing Tatum as Gambit, and Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic.
Avengers: Doomsday arrives on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
