Country singer Carly Pearce is getting candid about her ongoing health condition
The “Every Little Thing” singer, 35, took to Instagram on Thursday to share her the story of her recurrent pericarditis diagnosis, as well as how she’s aiming to spread awareness of the condition.
“When I first started experiencing recurrent pericarditis flares I was in the middle of a grueling performance schedule,” she explained. “The flares were painful and I would become short of breath and fatigued. Afters seeing many doctors I learned I have RP. Once I had my diagnosis I was finally able to work with my doctor and make my RP more manageable.”
In her post’s caption she went on to explain that her symptoms included, “sharp chest pain, shortness of breath and fatigue” which “could be misdiagnosed as other conditions.”
Pearce who has spoken about her diagnosis previously, announced that she’s partnering with a pharmaceutical company to continue to spread awareness of the condition.

Fans of the country singer swarmed her Instagram’s comment section with heart emojis and words of love and support.
“Very Glad You Are Getting Help And Raising Awareness About This Disease! Feel Better And Keep On Singing!! It’s Good For What Ails You!!!” one fan wrote.
“Thank you for bringing out more awareness to this sweetheart,” another fan said.
How Carly Pearce Has Navigated Her Recurrent Pericarditis Diagnosis
Pearce first went public with her diagnosis on Instagram last year, however it later became known that she had been dealing it since 2020. She has continued to speak about the condition, which according to the Mayo Clinic, is “swelling and irritation of the thin, saclike tissue surrounding the heart,” since.
Earlier this year she spoke on the Today show, further explaining her symptoms and how she’s navigating life with RP.
“I’m healthy, I’m trying to find my new normal,” she said of how she’s doing following the diagnosis. “It’s something that for me as a woman, somebody who’s young, who’s an avid runner [and] takes care of themselves, I really wanted to spread awareness that you are your biggest advocate.”
