As Swifties impatiently wait for Taylor Swift to share more information about The Life of a Showgirl, her boyfriend Travis Kelce‘s father, Ed Kelce, made a prediction about her twelfth studio album.
Just one day after Swift, 35, announced the new album in a sneak peek for her debut appearance on Travis, 35, and his brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, Ed, 74, shared his reaction to the big news while speaking to Australia’s Today on Wednesday, August 13.
“I knew nothing about this announcement,” he admitted during his appearance, which aired just hours before Swift’s “New Heights” episode is scheduled to drop. “I knew at some point the boys wanted to get her on the podcast, but I didn’t know when it was coming up.”
However, he did point out that Swift has been busy ever since she wrapped her Eras tour in December 2024. “I know Taylor’s been working pretty hard since she stopped the tour,” Ed said. “She’s taken some breaks to watch some football games, but she’s been out in L.A. working on this album.”
Ed concluded the topic by sharing his predictions for the new album. “My guess is that, although I haven’t heard anything, it’s going to be like everything else she does,” he said. “It’s going to be beautiful.”

While not much is known about Swift’s next album, she did reveal that it’s coming out soon in a teaser clip for her “New Heights” episode that was released in the early hours of Tuesday, August 12.
“Can I show you something?” Swift asked in the teaser clip as Jason, 37, responded, “Okay. What do we got? We got a briefcase? Mint green, with T.S. on it.”
After Jason asked Swift what was inside of the briefcase, she revealed that she is releasing a “brand new album” called The Life of a Showgirl.
While Jason screamed with excitement, Travis happily declared, “TS 12!”
