Back-to-back Starry Night Cinemas at the MACC this Friday and Saturday : Maui Now

Lettuce, set to release its ninth studio album “Cook” in December, leads the entertainment highlights coming to local and regional entertainment over the next couple of weeks.

The funk band, whose 2015 album “Crush” topped Billboard’s Jazz Albums chart and featured tracks such as “Phyllis” and “The Force,” will play Penn’s Peak.

The Mahoning Drive-In Theater will hold, among other events, Vampyrty ’25. Tim Cappello, the sax-playing beach concert star in the 1987 comedy-horror film “The Lost Boys,” will attend.

Wind Creek Event Center, meanwhile, hosts rockers such as Alice Cooper and David Lee Roth, plus comedians Matt Mathews, Howie Mandel and Brad Garrett, the latter two on a double bill.

• Sarah Gross, 8 p.m. Friday. The Americana/pop singer-songwriter released her third album, “Killjoy,” in 2023. The singer will release an EP, “The Library: In the Margins,” on Friday.

• “Rockin’ 4 a Cause,” 5 p.m. Sunday. The event features “Satisfaction/The International Rolling Stones Show,” celebrating its 25th anniversary, and The Beaten Path. The latter, a central Pennsylvania, covers from the 1960s to today. Proceeds from the event benefit Family Promise of Carbon County.

• Tusk, 8 p.m. Aug. 23. The group performs the music of rock band Fleetwood Mac, taking its name from Mac’s 1979 album and song of the same name.

• Lettuce, 8 p.m. Aug. 28. Originating in Boston in 1992, the band combines funk with strains of hip-hop, rock, psychedelia, jazz, soul, jam, go-go and the avant-garde. Lettuce plans to release its ninth studio album “Cook,” the follow-up to 2022’s “Unify,” in December.

• Sons of Skynyrd, 7 p.m. Saturday. The group pays tribute to Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd.

• Isaac Felix/Nate Tota Quartet, 7 p.m. Aug. 22. Aside from Felix and Tota, the quartet features Gene Perla and Adam Nussbaum.

• Marel Hidalgo Trio, 7 p.m. Aug. 29. Aside from Hidalgo, the trio features Mike Camacho and Leonieke Schuble.

• Vampyrty ’25, 5 p.m. Aug. 15 and 16. The event includes a screening of the 1987 vampire film “The Lost Boys,” with shirtless sax icon Tim Cappello playing a pre-film hour-long concert each night. Each night, a secret 1980s vampire film follows “The Lost Boys.”

• Video Game Night, 5 p.m. Aug. 17. The theater and Retroware present a screening of the 1995 James Bond film “Goldeneye.” The event also includes a pre-film retro game and vendor market, a Goleneye 007 Nintendo 64 tournament and retro consoles to play in the snack bar.

• Pee-Wee’s Big Drive-In Adventure, 6 p.m. Aug. 22 and 23. The theater celebrates the late Paul Reubens with screenings of 1985’s“Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure” and 1988’s “Big Top Pee Wee.”

• Camp Blood XI: Opening Night, 6 p.m. Aug. 28. Exhumed Films and the theater present the event, which begins with Mario Bava’s 1964 proto-slasher film “Blood and Black Lace.” Camp Blood continues through Aug. 31.

• Alice Cooper, 8 p.m. Saturday. Originating in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1964, the rock band released its eighth studio album — and first in 52 years — “The Revenge of Alice Cooper” in late July. Alice Cooper’s hit singles include “I’m Eighteen” and “School’s Out.”

• David Lee Roth, 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Born in Bloomington, Indiana, the rock singer fronted Van Halen from 1974 to 1985, in 1996 and then 2006 to 2020. Roth’s hits with Van Halen include “Dance the Night Away,” “Jump” and “Panama.”

• Matt Mathews, 8 p.m. Aug. 22. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, the comedian gained fame after posting farm-themed comedy videos on TikTok during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mathews debuted his first comedy special on YouTube earlier this year, with plans to release a country album later this year.

• George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic, 8 p.m. Aug. 23. Clinton leads the music collective, whose origins date back to Plainfield, New Jersey. The group primarily consists of funk bands Parliament and Funkadelic.

• Howie Mandel and Brad Garrett, 8 p.m. Aug. 24. Comedians Mandel, born in Toronto, and Garrett, born in Oxnard, California, started their standup careers in the late 1970s and early 1980s, respectively.

• Wine Fest, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 23. The event includes live entertainment by Gina Ross, food, wine samples. barrel racing, line dancing, grape stomping and making one’s own charcuterie boards.

• Peach Day, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 24. The event features peach ice cream, smoothies and cocktails, plus a petting zoo, carnival rides, gem mining, pony rides, and fair food and drinks featuring peaches.

• Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets, 8 p.m. Saturday, Musikfest Cafe. Lowe, a British pub rock/power pop/ new wave singer-songwriter, scored a hit with the 1979 single “Cruel to Be Kind.” Lowe released his first full-length album with Los Straitjackets in 2024.

• The Struts, 8 p.m. Aug. 20, Levitt Pavilion. Formed in 2012 in Derby, England, the British glam rock band released its debut album “Everybody Wants” in 2014. The set featured rock-radio hits “Could Have Been Me” and “Kiss This.”

• Blackberry Smoke, 8 p.m. Aug. 28. Formed in 2001 in Atlanta, the country-rock band released its eighth studio album, “Be Right Here,” in 2024.
