Alongside the release of their new album, Bugland, out August 8 via Hand Drawn Dracula and Sonic Cathedral, No Joy shared the music video for the song “Jelly Meadow Bright.” Directed by Jeremy Dabrowksi, the music video’s balance of DIY and dreamlike aesthetics perfectly amplify the track’s initial ethereal sonic qualities, including intricate guitars, echoing vocals, and soft harmonies.
Over the course of the seven-minute song, the composition takes a turn towards the industrial with the help of Fire-Toolz, incorporating heavy electronic elements, electric guitar riffs, and screaming vocals into the mix. Before listeners know it, the song takes on a completely new persona.
“Jelly Meadow Bright” is featured on No Joy’s recently released fifth LP Bugland. The project’s first full-length record since 2020’s Motherhood, Bugland received positive praise and recognition upon release.
This fall, No Joy will embark on their Bugland 2025 tour, making their way throughout North America, the UK, and Europe this fall. Running from September 3 through November 13, the band will tour with support from Shaki Tavi and Diles que no me maten.
